Ok so I got 286 watts 19,000 lumens of cfl's most above the plant and 2 on the side. Stealth cab 2x2x4...painted white inside and has some mylar.
I super cropped right when I put it into flowering to solve a height issue.

Here are a few pics...what can I do better
The first pic is how it looks now but turned the wrong way...the second pic is a week ago but it shows how it normally sits

lol andar +rep for the avatar....

also I agree that the lights need to be moved down, escpecially the one in the upper left corner (2nd pic).

AND I have those same adapters for the lights and extension cords, HOW do you keep them plugged in the socket and what is that on the upper lights that you have your adapters plugged into to make them have that Y shape?

Y adapters .... and the extension cord is plugged into a light socket. I have 2 light sockets on the board I wasn't using so I screwed a socket adapter in one to plug the extension cord in.

The problem I am having with putting the lights so close is that the temp at canopy level will rise 90 or so degrees. I agree I need to get them closer I just dont know how to keep the temp down. Maybe its because the light board is covered with like bubble mylar. I know the best answer is get a grow room instead of a grow box...get better exhaust and intake fans...put an oscilating fan inside the room...and use HPS...but thats not what I got or can have right now.

The lights are currently about 4-5 inches from the main cola, 6-8 inches away from the rest of the canopy and the side lights are covering most of the lower canopy
The way I super cropped it there is like 2 canopies...this is my first grow and I didnt plan that great...surpise. I was going to just let it grow in its normal christmas tree way but it grew to fast/i didnt flower it fast enough.
I am going to pull the top back down a bit to even the upper canopy and I will get the lights closer...how do i get them to 2 inches? Can the top of the plant be 90 degrees? the mid plant temp would be like 80 maybe

Thanks alot for posting by the way. Im going to plus rep ya both for your input. Please keep up on this thread for a little until you think I got it under control.....You guys think I should take some lights off the top and figure out how to put them on the sides? Thank may lower the temp

Add more fans! Never too many fans! I have 6 120mm & 2 80mm 5000rpm computer fans in a 1.5 square foot box and i keep my hps at 4 inches (minimum before light bleaching).. 80F :D

When I first began growing I used cfl's. I used a box similar to yours. I used this model off youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs_QRorECvo. and a 3inch clip fan blowing accross the canopy. I had to drill holes for fresh air intake after that no temp issues. She looks great more pics plz =D
Thanks for the input I think I will get another fan...currently I have 2 pc fans one in one out they run constantly when the lights are on but its not enough...i put the air in all the way at the bottom maybe i shoulda put it higher...rep comin
I rep-ed everyone that posted so far so keep it coming i dont want a shitty yield

Oh yeah, as per your request pics

if you have something to put under the pot to raise it you could do that instead of lowering lights. your plants should not burn just dont let them grow in between the y's of the llights that where its the hottest but get them as close to the bottom of the lights as you can

The way you have your light set up, you decrease the cabinet's volume when you lower the lights. If you raise the plant up to the lights like andar mentioned, you'll be better off than lowering the lights. The more volume you can get in there, the better because the heat from the lighs can dissipate better. More fans doesn't ever seem to hurt either.

The best way to get a better yield is to get a better light. :)

Hey man, thanks for the rep! Also, CFLs are fine for flowering dude dont worry about that, what kelvin are they though? 2700k or 6500k? and you NEED to move those cfls closer and add another fan if temps get above 85,

2700k for flowering 6500k for vegging

My adapters and extesion cord are very shitty quality, they always get unplugged.

buuuuump

Thank you everyone who posted....Was anyone else having trouble with RIU last night? I tried to post like 4 times and it wasnt working and then it seemed like the site was crashing database errors and shit...anyway
Crazygrowguy99 - 2700's and 1 6500
andar - good idea on raising the plants instead of lowering the lights
Dezracer - Whats up pimpin thanks for posting...Your right on with the volume thing makes alot of sense
ElectricPineapple - Miracle Grow Organic (using FF OF now..got a plant veggin in it) Nutes: just FF Tiger Bloom(UPDATED! I put big bloom on accident), when I can afford the trio I will pick em up..Reflection: white paint and mylar..paint all inside box mylar on light board and on floor..couple random pieces of mylar angled up at the bottom of the box...not sure thats helping anything
Smartt - Thanks bro

Arrid - Thanks for posting - I assume you suggest hps?

Ok here is some pics of the lights lowered...I will keep trying to make improvements...took these pics yesterday before the suggestion to raise the plants
