ive heard about a number of compassion programs, one that springs to mind is Harborsides programs like the low income freebies (show up with a paystub or disability check and they put you up for a random 8th a week) they also do a program where if you go in and write letters to your local representatives or sit and try to call them for an hour they hook you up as well (giving away medicine as an incentive to get people politically active? wow)I'll believe that when I see it actually happen. Since 215 was voted in 1996, there's been talk about just this being done, but the problem is finding those that are willing to do it. Everybody wants a piece of the pie. Which is fine, but I can't stand the "promise makers" that don't make good on their promises. We don't even get help in obtaining the crappy stuff. When your total monthly income is $845 strictly due to disability, I'd say that merits help, wouldn't you?
theres stuff out there, we just need people spreading the word and working to affect public change, i actually have to bribe friends with edibles to accompany me to meetings and committee hearings.
