tricky subject...I own a potato gun and a dog.
Guns scare me , but I guess if your legal with your weapons that's fine.
I just believe they are overrated as a form of protection. I had a friend that was a coke dealer and he dealt with a lot of cash and carried a 40 cal. at all times. He was killed in a deal gone bad, almost decapitated by a knife, his pistol still in his pocket. I do not think people realize what it is like to kill somebody.

Why should guns be legal?

Thats easy, because every person on the planet (although unfortunately some dont) should have the inalienable right to protect their life and their property..... The gun is a great equalizer in that even an armed 90 pound woman can protect herself or her family from a couple of 200 lb men, take her gun away and she is as good as dead or raped or both.

Disarming the populace is always the first step tyrants take.

Even an educated Idiot knows that its better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it.

serious answer - in the circles of some people - collecting.....like art, stamps or anything else. few of them really use them in any other meaningful fashion.....it is also a huge ego thing in those circles......my .44 SuperMag will put a hoLE in your engine block at 50 yds! a couple of people I know also still hunt for both sport and meat. many of the native people I know are still subsustence hunters.

I have been to 50+ countries. FROM JAPAN to SYRIA and very few places are as unsafe as the UNITED STATES.... seriously.. I hope your numbers are correct....
