It feeds the soil which in turn feeds the plant is the simple version. Also supplements cal and mag which our girls love. Simple version.

Hahha Keep proximity within 2 inches, 1 is too close even cfl's burn plants if they make contact, and your pushin it there.
Lookie here this is my CFL beast at 154watts.

Edit: Mabey i should take out the dead foliage but its add nitrgren IMO.

I"m new to growing indoors and in the process of building a cupboard 1300w x 700d x 2000h mm DWC scrog grow and want to use a combination of LED and CFL.
I was thinking of using a 90watt UFO in the middle and 2 130watt CFL 2700k on either side.
its simple and makes sense or dos'e it (please reflect)
Do I still need to the have the CFLs so close? With HIGH output and with a good reflector I thought I might get good coverage.
This thread makes me feel other wise, Are you saying that you need a CFL shining on every BUD surface and that alot of lower wattage CFL's are better than one high powered CFL with a decent reflector shining over a entire canopy.
please tell me what you think.

I am a total newbie. I have semi successfully grown 1 chocolate chunk using CFLS-from germination to today she is 63 days old. I am using 1 hydro-grow cfl lights 200 watts View attachment 1041660View attachment 1041665View attachment 1041670View attachment 1041671View attachment 1041677View attachment 1041681and 2 cfl 60 watt lights at this moment.
She has been grown in a closet in a four gallon tub using Humboldt Grow, Micro and Bloom nutrients. I let her veg for 5 weeks (12 inches exactly) before moving her to Flowering and as you can see I did not top her or trim her at all.
I have just germinated 3 Sensi Star and 3 Blueberry this weekend. I would appreciate any input and advice which will help make this next grow even better. Thank you in advance.

I have an idea about this.
What if I made some type of barrier that will keep the bulbs from touching the plant but allow for ultimate proximity.
I want to make something that will enclose the bulb within an inch. Enclose the bulb in a see through plastic case or some chicken wire. Doing this will allow for the bulb to sit anywhere close to the plant (Deep inside the plant)
Because there will be a barrier on the bulb then we can basically place bulbs inside the branches without burning the leafs.
Anyone tired something like this before?

I love CFL's pulled down over 500 grams on a closet grow last year awesome for small spaces or stealth grow

4 100 wt cfls with aluminum reflectors 20 plants, nd flowering spikes b4 planting seeds 23 days. doing good??? nd i think my lights are ttoo fr but i want the plants to grow away from one another

Would love to see an educated answer to this because I guess it would work but the queries I would have are:
- Would the medium you place your bulbs in create heat build up and effectively burn your buds/plants?
- Can the lumens transfer through the medium as effectively or will it act as a barrier?
Anyone??
