Thanks riddle for the compliments. The one thing I did do was leave the leaves like in your thread to help stop some of the oxidation. Probably hand manicure like Mel talks about in his book.

hell yeah man congratulations on the harvest they both look like excellent smoke, beautiful.

Mariska is turning out to be excelent smoke the longer she dries. She will only get better with time. lol I went ahead and chopped the rest of her and have it drying as we speak. Got a bunch of popcorn nuggs but they still look yummy. I will post some pics latter today. And as always, thanks for stopping by.

Damn after the dry/cure process plz let us know how the smoke is. Taste smell high all of it lol

Hey pin, will do on the smoke report. So far Mariska is a nice head high and smooth for only being 5 days of drying time for the budds I cut Sat. I couldn't figure out what the hell she smelled like till the wife said it smelled sour? HMMMMM! Let ya know as she dries more.

That second plant is lookin hella frosty tho, very nice grow!

Have no idea what she smokes like? have not taken any samples yet. She is super frosty and a nice shade of purple! lol

Hey big do you trim those babies further after you hang dry? I am unsure of what to do with the trim from when i harvest. I dont have enough to make hash but also dont want to be cutting off and throwing away leaves covered in trichs. Do you just leave em on there as are in the pics?

Hey RS, normaly I would trim her a little closer to the bud but I am trying something different this time. Been doing some reading on how they help prevent the oxidation of the THC when they dry and rap around the bud. I figured it could'nt hurt. After they dry I will probably hand manicure as needed? not sure what to do with the leaves I did trim. Will probably try to make a little hash? IDk.

Anyway have a safe trip. Hope those ladies of yours are ready for ya when ya get back.

Well it's day 3 of 12/12 for the last 2 I had in veg. Whent in the flower box on the 15th after I chopped Ziva. I also whent ahead and finished up cutting Mariska but not to happy with the outcome? Got a bunch of popcorn and thats about it. Thay are drying now and should be as good if not better than the first cutting I did on the 12th.

So here is an update with whats going on in the flower box now.

I have 1 female for sure. She was one of the 12/12 from seed and she is really starting to take off. The other 12/12 from seed was definately a male so he is now gone. 1 of the babies is on day 10 of 12/12 and should be showing sex soon. The last 2 are on day 3 of 12/12. I hope that they are all girls this time.( fingers crossed).

I am growing outdoors, but since they have to be hidden, conditions are not ideal. I am still getting a good bit of smoke tho, and I'm not a heavy smoker. I haven't made any hash yet, but a lot of butter! Well, anyway, just wanted to let you know that I am enjoying your thread!

Hey Cindy, welcome to the thread. Congrats on the WW and don't just love those mystery seeds. All my bag seeds come from quality smoke so what little I have grown has been as good as anything I bought off my guy. I cannot believe I have not try ed growing before this. lol I am going to be buying a 450w CMH bulb at the end of the summer and that is when I plan to invest in some quality genetics. Not sure yet but gotta my eye on some Northern Lights for some good couch lock at night and not sure about a good daytime smoke yet. Mariska has been a nice daytime smoke so far but she seems to be getting a little more stony as she cures each day. Just have to wait and see. As I said earlier in the thread the wife deals with severe anxiety so looking for something for here also.

If ya get that cam stop by and post some pic's of the girls, I would like to see em. Glad ya are enjoying the thread.

So I am at this BBQ a couple weeks ago( friend of a friend) and the subject of Medical M/J comes up. Now living in a very, very conservative state, I start to here the usual banter about "there is no medical use for it" and "just another way for hippies to smoke pot" rederic. Well I add a little of my 2 cents to the convo but not enough to really draw attention to myself. Now the people at the BBQ are all around 40to 50 yrs of age so it's not a bunch of Kids sitting around talking about weed. Well this one woman starts getting a little defensive about the use of M/M and its legitimate uses. She Say's that she is a physicians assistant and that she has seen the successful use of M/J as a medicine, but I don't think anyone really takes her to serious. Well the conversation breaks up and I decide to have a little chat with here about her views on the subject of M/M. Turns out she very educated on the subject and she gives me a copy of the Marijuana Policy project new letter.(the one seen in the photos of Zivas harvest.)

Well to take a quote from Seinfeld, " yadda, yadda, yadda," and now I am the proud owner of 20 new beans to use if I ever want to grow my own.(didn't tell her I was growing already) She tells me they are a cross between Purple Kush daddy and a mystery momma. She knows what the mother is but won't tell me because she wants it to be a surprise? She says she chose the 2 strains because they are fast vigorous growers.

IDK but maybe she is blowing smoke up my ass. They could just be bag seed but from our conversation, she seems to know what she is talking about. Just have to wait and see.

I know what your thinking "NARC". I don't think a narc would be giving beans to people and then plotting to bust them. lol I think thats called entrapment.

Gonna germ 6 of em today and see what happens. Thought it was a cool story and wanted to share it with ya. I know it sounds like bullshit but its true.

So its day 8 today and also my birthday this week and Mother Nature gave me a crqppy birthday present! I thought I was starting to see balls forming but was not entirely sure so I let them go another night and I was correct with my diagnosis. They showed their true colors and 3 of 4 are male . I went over the last one with a fine tooth comb and no balls yet so I am crossing my fingers.

Mariska is doing great! She is realy starting to bush up nicely. I removed her restraints so she is free to stretch out a little and take a deep breath.lol I might just try and take a couple clones off her just to see what happens. Even though she looked so mutated at first, you wouldn't be able to tell now.



I have a couple options with my next move? Start some more beans that came from one of my last girls(3 seeds on the whole plant) and some bagseed from some killa, or just try and get a couple of clones from Mariska. What do ya think?

I am with ya there gumball. Especially in this town I am from. Although allot more people than are known partake in one way or another. I don't know about you but i usually know who does and who don't. Unfortunately being a small business owner, I don't need any extra attention if ya know what I mean? How much I open up about the subject depends on the depth of the conversation.

Hey riddle, I put a short-cut to that link on my desktop. That story of Darla was awesome. She put it to the council with her evidence on the use of cannabis in medicine. Trying to read as much as I can and as time allows with the business. I have to decide between research and forum so I try to split it up.

Hey quite, welcome to the thread. They are under 434w of CFL, around 100W 6500k and 334 of the 2700k. trying to keep the par as close to natural as possible. I am sure some will say that it is no where near natural, but I say as close as you can get with a bunch of cf l's.

I have been thinking about those free beans that were so wonderfully gifted to myself. I feel that it was part of good karma that I have been lucky enough to be the recipient of. I know it sound kinda weird but every since I started to grow my first plant, there has been a sense of calm about myself, my wife and our house. I know it sounds all freaking philosophical and shit, but its true. I love going down to the grow with the wife and lighting one up after a long day at work. I feel close with all that is around me. I have used cannabis for many years but never felt the connection to this plant until I started to grow and nurture it. I cant wait to get the PK cross going. I think they already have a head start with the good karma they represent.

I'm done rambling for now.(Man ziva has turned out to be a good smoking girl even without a proper cure.) Thanks to everybody who has stopped by the thread and leaving your comments. .

Not much new with the girls in flower. Day 15 for the one I moved first and day 8 for the last two. Man I hope they all turn out female! Fingers and toes crossed.

Today is the day I planted 6 of the PK x that were gifted to me by a person who is very special. She was kind enough to pass on something that she created and I hope I am fortunate enough to pass it on myself. If I come across a male I am going to keep him and try for some seeds to keep the strain going and maybe try and improve on it if need be.

Her is some pics in there new home. Under 184w with a 50/50 mix.

I know exactly what you mean, when you grow it with love and it rewards you in that way its a very special emotion. And when people share that love it really creates a special bond . I received in the post today 4 beautiful healthy cuttings, I never asked for them but they were gifted to me and it makes you feel good in this often greedy world we live in where everyone's out for the $$$$. How can what we do ever REALLY be a crime? Sorry, now that's me gone all philosophical on you

I could tell by the way you wrote about your plants that growing this marvelous gift of God or what ever you wan't to call him/her was something special! Cheer's tam, keep your fingers crossed that Ziva takes back off. Thought I would stick her back in the veg cab since I started the Purple Kush X's. She looked so pretty before harvest, all frosted up like she was.

Worth every bit RS, They both turned out really well. Although Mariska is not as stoney as Ziva that's for sure, she turned out to be a nice daytime smoke so we have the best of both worlds.

So I definitely have 3 girls blooming now and I am pretty sure the last one is female also. Not 100% but close to it.lol They are still stretching and are looking pretty good. They were showing a little deficiency so I gave em a 1/2 tsp of the Foliage Pro from Dynagro. They are looking better now and starting to green back up.

I ordered the Dynagro Pro-TeKt with Silica and that should be here today. Now I just got to get some Jack's dynamic duo and I think I will have the bases covered.
