I have an outdoor scrog going on also, but my girls are already passing through the screens right now. I can already tell i am going to have hundreds of colas but do you think i should put a third screen up? they are going to go way beyond this one by october.

Pix?

If the buds won't end up on the ground, then I'd say a third screen is up to you.

Hey VG just wanted to pop in and say hello to you and Fuzzy. Everything is looking great, as usual! I first started following along when you were getting everything started when it was still a little chilly. It's fun seeing everything growing into the surroundings. Those greenhouses are filling up nicely!

Thanks, very informative site. Still think I want to clone later and keep this strain going. I'm told it is Indica F-13 so I'm hoping for the best. So here's my question for today VG. Since I'm in WI, my growing will be done in Sept or Oct for sure. How can I clone and keep this strain alive inside without raising my electric bill big time? I want to figure out how to grow twelve female plants next growing season outdoors. The cloning I can do, but can I keep something alive till next May?

Back before HPS and MH bulbs, I kept a clone only Thai Stick strain going using 6 40w florescent bulbs. I'd keep four mothers through the winter, and then cut clones in March for late April planting in my garden. I used a timer, and kept them on 14/10 or 16/8, in a bedroom closet.

I cloned that Thai twice a year, Spring and Fall through 19 generations, or nearly ten years.

Thanks veggie. I think that i probably will put up the screens later because i would hate for the wind to break something. I was also wondering what you would do to get more colas to come through the screen like your signature. The growth that has already come through is beginning to shade the the ones that have not. I don't want to cut anything so Ill was leaning towards just letting it do its thing.

If you want to even up the canopy, you might try some things I use.

LST- Leaning the taller branches, underneath the screen, and train individual shoots into separate holes in the screen, offering even spacing.

Supercropping- This involves pinching the taller shoots, just above the screen, and bending them horizontally. I often use wire hooks to hold them in place.

FIMing- I sometimes FIM to slow vertical growth while filling in a lightly branching strain. FIMing your taller shoots would be an effective way to level the canopy.

Spread the canopy horizontally- Lean branches away from the main stalk, or plant center. More area = more light = more buds.

Look at your plants at noon- See if any sunlight is reaching the ground, underneath. Train branches, accordingly.

Very encouraging information. I may have to re-evaluate what I want to achieve this season. Since I still have to buy what we need now anyhow, should I concentrate more on Rich's girl becoming a mother plant? Hmmm. Thanks, I'm sure I'll have more questions.

I've begun to train various plants as needed. Hopefully you can see how I do it from the pix.

I use whatever is handy to fill gaps and widen the canopy. The yellow cord acts as an anchor to adjust branches.

Wrong time of year for citrus isn't it? What are those, Myer's lemons? I have a Satsuma orange and Sunburst tangerine. In one of your earlier pics I think I saw a peach tree as well no? I also have 2 Flordaking and 1 Flordasun peaches in my yard. I love some fruit!

Yeah, that's a semi dwarf Myer's Lemon. I'm getting ready to plant a standard naval orange, as well.

I have a Satsuma type plum, a Golden fig, and two peach trees.

Also some Boysenberries.

You know I'm watching VG.

I'm doing the same thing with my WW's. I've been tucking them back under the remesh, so their side branches grow up. I can't let them get much higher.

Peace

P.S. I have 30ft orange & 20ft lemon trees. Got to love Cali!

Checked out your current shots, lots of good tying ideas you have there. Next year I'll try and start the training process much earlier. Reall like the suspended mesh!

I meant to mention, that Myer's Lemon blooms a couple weeks after each feeding. Time of year doesn't seem to matter.

It currently has flowers, half size lemons and the ripe fruit on it, in different places.

The plants in the East greenhouse. Still a bit slow, but I have great expectations.

A couple shots from above. This is the same space pictured in my siggy. I hope I can let the trileaf top to grow straight up, but it's already over 7 feet.

These are the two Trainwreck clones that refused to reveg until I dug them up, and put a light next to them to extend the day length.
