I don't want to fight, but I brought it upon myself and so I will keep it brief.
Your son knows you grow marijuana. He also knows it is against the law to do so.
--I'm further assuming your son thinks breaking a law is a bigger deal then breaking a rule set by his father.
Now then, your son sees you disregard laws set by people he sees as having more authority then you, but you expect that he would listen to you when you tell him he can't get high before/during school?
Further, you say he has actually fucked up by ignoring your rule. Wow, and what does he think his father has done by ignoring the Federal Government?
Well, if you handled this correctly he might think his father is right to ignore the Federal Government.
But no, your compounding the confusion by handing your responsibilities as a father over to the same people who's laws you don't abide.
So, instead of you dolling out the punishment -- not for being high -- but for disrespecting your rules (you have every right to be mad at that) you're going to let the people who you yourself disregard punish your son.
Now imagine being 13 and wrapping your mind around that.
You suck-
I see your point, I really do. I can wear both peoples shoes. But I have a question about the points you made.
Does that also include us not doing the speed limit? I would imagine one of the first laws a kid learns is what a speed limit is. Do you speed? 5 over is breaking the law cut and dry. 35mph is not 40. That comparison is similar to what you are trying make about following laws. Ever run a red light before on purpose?
Its a law I would say people break on a very regular basis. A law is a law.
