Public Intoxication - Damn Kid

I don't want to fight, but I brought it upon myself and so I will keep it brief.

Your son knows you grow marijuana. He also knows it is against the law to do so.

--I'm further assuming your son thinks breaking a law is a bigger deal then breaking a rule set by his father.

Now then, your son sees you disregard laws set by people he sees as having more authority then you, but you expect that he would listen to you when you tell him he can't get high before/during school?

Further, you say he has actually fucked up by ignoring your rule. Wow, and what does he think his father has done by ignoring the Federal Government?

Well, if you handled this correctly he might think his father is right to ignore the Federal Government.

But no, your compounding the confusion by handing your responsibilities as a father over to the same people who's laws you don't abide.

So, instead of you dolling out the punishment -- not for being high -- but for disrespecting your rules (you have every right to be mad at that) you're going to let the people who you yourself disregard punish your son.

Now imagine being 13 and wrapping your mind around that.

You suck-

I see your point, I really do. I can wear both peoples shoes. But I have a question about the points you made.

Does that also include us not doing the speed limit? I would imagine one of the first laws a kid learns is what a speed limit is. Do you speed? 5 over is breaking the law cut and dry. 35mph is not 40. That comparison is similar to what you are trying make about following laws. Ever run a red light before on purpose?

Its a law I would say people break on a very regular basis. A law is a law.

I'm sorry you guys think that. I disagree. Fight the law, never let them punish your children, especially for crimes you commit. :)
If I get caught, then I will take my punishment. But, I try not to put myself into that situation. I did not get caught for a crime, he did. I did not go to school stoned and tell them he also sold some on the way to school. I warned him. Now he needs to see the consequences. I am not a person that constantly coddles my kids. They fall down, I tell them to get their ass back up. While many of us do not agree with our justice system it is what it is and we have to adapt to it. They still have a way of getting their point across when it needs to be done, whether I agree with them or not.

BTW....Some will think I am really a SOB on this too. That money he had on him is now mine, he is not getting it back. That 75 bucks will cover about half of what the fines will be. I am not going to pay for his fuck up, he is. He just needs to find another LEGAL way of making the money to make up for the remainder.

Naw... hes not "fucked"

Trust me! Your son is gunna be fine... it'll just scare him a little
I know, PI is not that big of a deal. Its not like he got caught with a pound.

I know he is not really fucked, but he did fuck up. And I hope it does scare the shit out of him. If it doesnt I will have some serious problems, I have done just about all I can do to him. Grounding does not work. He has already been grounded for 3 months for other things, busting his ass does not work anymore. So, I believe its time to take another route. It makes it difficult on what I can do to him when he could care less.

Well, I live in texas. My nephew got in trouble for being high in school too. He was in alternative school already though. When he went to court, the judge had a cop arrest him and he sat in juvi for about 4 hours before his parents picked him up.

That is kinda the point -- eh?

It doesn't make sense, I'm going to teach you a lesson--nah, I'm freaking out cause you told the police you got it from me... :hump:

Look... all I'm saying, and i do understand where you are coming from, is that it's better he understands the system WE AS STONERS despise, especially if he learns now at 13 rather than do some immature bullshit as an adult. He's not trying to put his son in harms way, he's trying to educate his son on what WE AS STONERS must learn to avoid if we are to enjoy our herb:joint: What must we avoid? Situations like the one his son has gotten into... Next time he'll know: NEVER self-incriminate! ALWAYS know your rights! and my personal favorite, ALWAYS use eyedrops and cologne if you are goin to school high :joint:

Well said. Thanks. I must add again, I tried to educate him about this, he would not listen so now he must see what happens first hand and what the consequences are. I will educate him on his rights after this is all over. If only he listened to me.....
