First about your question on my profile. I had an entire crop die when I mixed GO Bio Root and GO Calmag+ into my Fox Farm trio. I believe there was a chemical reaction between the fertalizers and thats what caused it. And you are not supposed to use the General Organics lineup in hydro(especially DWC). I have read many journals with people getting good results with them in soil though but with the side note of the GO CalMag+ making the nutrient mix ph drop very low and you have to adjust it up every time. I'll answer all of the other questions in the quotes below.
some Questions!!
Q1) can any one tell me why do growers do cuttings from they marijuana plant and then re grow the cuttings?
A1)They use cuttings to make clones. Using cloens for flowering ensures a consistant end product that grow very similar in height and growth patters making it easier to place lights and get more even growth throughout your room. Another added bonus is knowing that all the plants will be female(provided they were cut from a female plant) and they should have identical nutrient requirements so you dont have to do custom mixes for pickier plants. There are several tutorials on cloning plants if you search around for them. It is very easy to do and well worth while if you have a verified female of good genetics.
Q2) and i heard that female plants ore better to grow is that true? and why?
A2)You only want to grow female plants. They are the only ones that produce buds(except hermies) and give you something to smoke. Males have almost no thc compared to females but can be used to make hash or cana butter if you were unfortunate enough to get only males from your seeds(not likely to happen). Male plants only produce pollen sacs which arent recomended for smoking. You also want to remove any males from your flower room if there are any because they will pollinate your whole crop. When females get pollinated, bud growth stops and seed formation begins. That is basically how you end up with schwag(lowest quality of herb).
Q3) are marijuana plants a low buzz if you grow them from seeds?
A3)No, not at all. Every plant out there came from a seed at some point. They dont get better with age, cloning is just used for the reasons stated above and you need some good seeds(Doesnt always mean expensive) to find a suitable mother. The buzz depends entirely on the genetics of the plant and how you grow it.
Q4) are cloned marijuana plants more stonger buzz?
They are the same as the mother that they came from, which is a seed. See answer above.
will this bulb do for the veg period?
That Bulb is perfect for veg. I use a 100w, 5700k cfl to veg 4-6 clones at a time. I also use a 100w metal halide light, and 2 42w 5700k cfl's to veg the same amounts of plants per light with similar results.
quastion
i bought
2 x Blue Spectrum 250 watt 8U 6400K E40 CFL Grow Light Bulb both have reflectors will these 2 lights do for a full perod of 4 blueberry
Im not sure I get the question...
thanks sbl. now that this is out the way. i was stuck about the ph levels. i got a meter that will tell me how much its got and i now to keep it between 6.5 and 6.8 but how do i keep the ph levels under control?
You simply adjust the ph of the nutrient mix for the plants and the water you use to the desired ph and just water them. It is also a good idea to check the ph of the soil and the run-oof from feeding and watering regularly.
thanks for that! i can get the ph up and down from the net. but i was wondering, do i mix the ph formula in the water i give to them? and will the resulst be instat on the meter when i top it up with ph up/down? and at what stage do i start checking the ph in the soil?
When you mix up nutrients, people generally do it in gallon incriments. So generically we'll say you fill a gallon jug with water, you look at your nutrients and the say add so much per gallon, use half or less of this amount to start with. Once the nutrients are mixed into the water check the ph. Depending on your meter it takes from about 2-60sec. to get a steady reading. Whatever the readout is, just adjust it accordingly with ph up or down and then feed the plants. Unless you use an air pump to airrate you nutrient mix, only mix what you need for a single flowering. Mixed nutrients "spoil" like food within a couple of days of mixing and arent reccomended for feeding your plants if the mix has sat for a few days. And you want to check your ph levels right from the beginning.
Hope all of this helps. There are many great resources out there to find all of this information and much more if you look around. If you are familiar with using torrent clients for downlods MediMary gave me this link to a torrent that has all of the information you could ever need in book and video form.
