So does anyone know if there's phosphorus in molasses?
No there is none.. Since my plant is flowering I use Schultz Bloom builder 5-30-5 what I do is add 1/3 of a cap and I dump in a table spoon of Molasses which translates into Potassium into a 950ml of Gatorade bottle shake that up well and apply.. It works well I feed it no more than 3x a week and just plain water for the remainder it doesn't seem to be overkill for my plant that is around 5ft in a 6gal pot mind you it's been quite hot here in Ontario this summer...So does anyone know if there's phosphorus in molasses?
Space Angel claims to have tested the theory of just Molasses in bloom and he said it works better than blooming nutes. No there is none.. Here's an excerpt on blackstrap molasses. It's from a health site, but describes some of the properties as a food:Space Angel claims to have tested the theory of just Molasses in bloom and he said it works better than blooming nutes.
How the hell is that possible if there's no Phosphorus(the most important nutrient for bloom)?
I know one guys who use's both. And there's many guys on this site that use both.
That health site descibes the amount of P and other nutrients for human consumption. Here's an excerpt on blackstrap molasses. It's from a health site, but describes some of the properties as a food:
It goes on to say that an important constituent of molasses is phosphoric acid and that everybody can benefit from ingesting a teaspoon per day.
- Blackstrap molasses, gram for gram, contains more Iron than any other food, except for pig's liver and Brewer's Yeast.
- Contains five times more Calcium than milk - without the high protein that causes calcium to be excreted
- Contains an abundant source of all B vitamins
- Large amounts of copper, potassium and phosphorus
- Sizeable amounts of trace mineral Chromium (valuable in maintaining blood sugar levels)>
- 10% of content is minerals
http://amazinghealth.com/AH-natural-remedies-molasses.html There's the link. I don't know if it's all true, but the breakdown of components should be right.
Just make your mix and water the plants with as much as they need. There's no reason to pour a gallon to them if they're just in small pots. I don't think it's necessary to keep upping the dosage unless you are trying to use it as your main food. Most people use it as an additive and overdoing it can mess with your soil texture.so when I mix the tsb of molassas with the gallon of water do I use that whole gallon on one plant and make 2 more gallons for two more plants? *1 gallon per plant* ... or do I just divide that gallon equally between my plants ? and also does the amount of molasses go up as time goes by...so like 1 tsb to 1 1/2 tsb - 2 tsb per gallon as the plant gets used to it ?

I do about a gallon of water to a 3 gallon container as well.
