So why not just make up a sugar syrup if it is only sugar content that matters? Hell of a lot cheaper than either of them.Actually, you're wrong here. Honey has 17% MORE sugar than molasses.

You could definitely do that. Boil up some sugar and water, mix in some yeast nutrient, maybe add some baking soda and some epsom salt. Your plant and soil could use all that stuff assuming you could pin down some correct ratios. I don't use molasses but I wonder if a sugar water mix would attract more bugs than molasses? So why not just make up a sugar syrup if it is only sugar content that matters? by the time you figure cooking time, cost of ingredients, electricity, and all the trial and error, it would still be way more expensive than $2.29 and it lasts me about a month. You could definitely do that. EDIT: Scratch the baking soda, I was thinking of something else when I wrote that
ugh yeah ive had my molasses water grow algae in it and it smells so horribleby the time you figure cooking time, cost of ingredients, electricity, and all the trial and error, it would still be way more expensive than $2.29 and it lasts me about a month.
anything you cook with sugar would rot in that time unless properly stored, probably fridge or freezer. btw molassas rots too about a day or two after you mix it with spigot water. stinks like a mofo.
