Hell yeah. Enough already. I got rain water stock to water with for a year. I moved mt babys under a magnolia tree during most of the rain.well this afternoon im gonna see if the one plant out of the 5 gets cut from drowning from all this rain
I get it at Lowes in a 16 quart bag that weighs next to nothing. It is called Ferry Morse Organic Seed Start Mix. Now that I search online for it, I see that Ferry and Jiffy are now one and the same.... This is how the product looks now... It is 16 quarts and should be very light when you pick it up. This stuff doesn't hold water like some mixes do, which is great for new roots. just make sure you monitor moisture daily and water or spray when you need too. Your germ rate will sky rocket.Serapis,
whats this orgainc seed starter your are talking about? I jsut know those little jiffy pellets, and would like to try you way as i am strinking out big team and lost a lost seeds that ner germinated.
Thanks, + Rep, do you just spray with plain ph water, or just plain old water for starters. Sorry for some many questions is jsut that i am sucking ass on this lately.I get it at Lowes in a 16 quart bag that weighs next to nothing. It is called Ferry Morse Organic Seed Start Mix. On my seeds I use strictly rain water. The PH tends to be near 8, but I think the starter is acidic, probably a lot of peat. It all works out. I use a 5 gallon bucket that catches rain running off of my roof. One hard rain and I have water for two or three weeks. I add 1 cap of H2O2 per one gallon container I get from the rain bucket. Thanks, + Rep, do you just spray with plain ph water, or just plain old water for starters. yeah i had to cut one down today but i water with distilled water tomorrow and get the acid from the pine needles out of there and even the phHell yeah. Enough already. I got rain water stock to water with for a year. I moved mt babys under a magnolia tree during most of the rain.
im going to try this if i dont get a sprout in a couple days.i planted a skunk #1 seed into a rockwool cube without any pre-soaking or paper towel germ. lets see what happensI don't know why people mess with paper towels or jiffy pellets when it comes to seeds mother nature provides. I use solo 9 oz party cups, which I guess is a bathroom size or near it, because I don't want big cups taking up room. I pop a few drain holes in each and I fill with an organic seed starter, available at Lowes. It's mostly peat with a wetting agent and some coco hairs and such, very light weight and sterlie. pour about 6 oz of water in each and let it drain out. Poke a hole about 1/4" wide by 1/2" deep and drop a seed into each cup, cover with lose starter peat and mist the tops. I then cover the cup tops with a black Glad Oven disposable tray to keep light out. After 48 hours, start misting and checking every 12 hours. As they germ, remove cup and place under flouros.
Keep misting the tops until the seeds germinate. Once they do, I place them in a tray and water from bottom up, to encourage root growth. In about 14 days you can transplant. My success rate is high with this method. No paper towels, no dark corner, no pellets, no BS..... just starter soil, a cup and water.
