Your looking at an all day affair if your doing an entire pound by your self and plan on getting a close trim. Unless you have some specialty scissors/trimmers. I have not invested the $300 in automatic trimmers yet so don't know how long that would take. Also, if the strain you grew has foxtails up the ass add a few more hours of delicate trimming.

it all depends on the nugs to. the fat ones go quicker if you have a premature harvest shit it can take all night with a couple people. f
This is the most important thing I think. It depends a lot on the bud your working on..Trimming the bomb outdoor Maui tops, I kill pounds in 3 hours all day long. Trimming the indoor Sour Diesel it can take up to 6 or 7 hours to fisk one pound.

I trimmed well over 300 pounds in 2009 and probably over 50 so far in 2010 and i'd have to say fdd kinda nailed it..The average always ends up being about 4 hours.

yeah that out door would be fun to trim. none of those little undeveloped nugs at the bottoms. if I threw away the little shit and just trimes my fat nugs I could pop a p out in about 4 hours mayby. another thing that takes me a long time is that my indoor is so sticky that my scissors gunk up hella quick like cement so i constantly have to scrape them with a razor. 300 pounds that alot and if you are growing out door I bet you trimed that m uch or more. I trim 4 pounds a month so you got me beat by alot, but I get 4,00 to 4,800 a pound so my pounds count as like 1 and a half lol

Try trimmin with bud worms in it. Took me all day to get an ounce. I want to toss it all. But I have smoked some of the worst shit on the market like forever. I got to have something to show for my hard work. So maybe in two weeks I'll have a lb. LOL

LOL. Plus fluffy buds take waaayyyy longer than rock hard nuggets :)
i dont know about that dude perfection is what you dont understand which is why you like overly dense nugget, why you leave leaves on the bud, and why you hate nonpleated bags that weigh 1 gram. my shits got to be perfect

I had those budworms on my WW. I had no idea they were there, even though I inspected the plants daily.
Only thing I can figure that they are, is those little yellow moths. My son called them 'speedies' when he was little.

During trimming, I just picked the few I found out, and cut away any brown area they left behind. I also experimented with placing the buds in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
That was kinda cool....fried them like a pork rhind!

I didn't do that to all the harvest though. It was just as easy to pick them out.

Sticky scissors are a common problem in this business :) Im sure you know all about it with a name like that! I just keep 3 or 4 pairs nearby in a plastic keg cup full of rubbing alcohol and do a rotation every 10 or 15 mins. I get so much hash from my fingers, I don't even bother scraping the more "green" stuff from the scissors - it just gets dissolved in the isopropyl ;) And for the record, only 10-15 of those 300 belonged to me lol.

PS I dont even know anyone that can get 4g's for an elbow. Well done.

you should really wear VINYL gloves when trimming. all that sticky on your hands is supposed to stay on the buds. i have found, after trying everything, that vinyl gloves are the least stickiest. meaning you can wear them longer and pick up LESS resin on your hands.

scissors get a quick scrape with a razor before going into the cup of ISO. i pulled 14 grams of scissor hash last year. 0 grams of finger hash.

Well I hand trim a pound in 1 hour, I do this by hand, pulling anything I can get my fingers on. Makes great finger hash. Than I put it in the dryer for 7 to 10 days. I leave everything attached to the stock for ease of hanging and handling and sorting. When I trim the buds fron the plant if there are smaller leafs I missed earlier I just bump them with the scissors and it falls off. This takes 1 hour to do. So 2 hours in all.

Now my friends complained about the trimming a little bit but I told them it was to protest the buds from being jostled around in transport and if they wanted to give the leaf back I would replace it. The real reason they don't complain too much is it's all good shit.

As for trimmers, everyone will know right away your using one from the finished product. I had a large TRIMPRO and a ton of work, used it one season than sold it. By the way it's a good way to advertise your moving size.

Peace

i have only been able to find boxes of 100 VINYl at home depot. in the paint department.

resin hella sticks to latex. i'm not worried about my hands getting dirty, i can wash them. i'm more worried about removing trichs by them sticking to the gloves. vinyl seems to be the least stickiest.
