it's pretty clear medical people and dealers don't want to pass this prop. For the medical heads there saying '' oh its already legal for us, we can do it all already, lets keep it this way and keep big business out ''
And for Dealers its pretty obvious '' i don't want to go up against big business and more competition ''
And for some one like my self who doesn't fit into any of the above category who just wants to enjoy a blunt while i'm fishing on a sunday afternoon without having to worry about prosecution ? I'm going to vote yes on prop 19.
I'm not medical and i'm not a dealer. But I will still vote NO. For god's sake READ IT! This is no different than the horribly crafted health care plan. People just wanted to hear "universal health care" and they'd vote for anything. That bill was fucking 2000 pages long!

OK, people the magic word is INCREMENTALIS. This proposition is a starting point for the process of legalizing and if this gets passed the liberties can slowly be expanded it will be the first step and you are not going to get a better deal because the goverment can't just say 'this stuff is harmless we have been lying to you for the last few decades' that would be called political suicide sure as hell they won't do it! so any first legalization process needs to start with strict laws for it to have any chance of passing as it keeps the number of opponents to a minimum and is acceptable for the state. Also as more people will get exposed to cannabis especially the kinds that would have never dreamed about contacting a dealer it will loose the stigma attached to it as they notice that it isn't as dangerous as it is made out to be.

do you guys just expect that cannabis that has been under tight control for decades and fueled the drug war would just be considered a normal plant without any preliminary period what so ever?

I say, why destroy a fragil little seedling, if it could turn into a full flowering girl with time and maintanece. :weed:

Just because it's the first bill for legalization doesn't mean it's a good one. As far as it needing to be strict in order to pass, do you think people who don't smoke even have a clue what's in this bill? They, like most of you for this bill, have no clue what's in it they just here legalization. If this bill gets passed in November it will be a sad day for the progress California is making. The truth is a medical card is a formality that allows you more rights than this legalization bill because prop 215 was written for the people, this bill was not. This bill is so loosely written the courts and cops are going to have a field day because it's going to be about interpretation of the bill. A legalization bill needs to be more clear.

IMO you Cali guys are a tad egoistic regarding this subject. The US is the most influencal country in the world, and if such a law should pass in California, it would send an ENORMOUS message to the rest of the world regarding it's opinion of Marijuana. In many countrys, like mine for example (Norway), people know ridiculously little about this plant and it's benefits. All they know (or think they know..) is that it's a drug, just like Cocaine and Heroin, and we certainly would not want such a thing legalized\decriminalized....

BUT! if you guys decided to make it legal for anyone over 21, that's when the weed is going to gain interest among the rest of the world, people all of the sudden wanna know something about marijuana, and why the Americans are making both money and lowering prison inmates by decriminalizing it. And just the fact that this regards Hollywood, who also is kind of a trendsetter in the urban world, that would also catch peoples attention for sure.

Just a different perspective :)

cali voters are being asked to take a big step, i understand the strong and divided opinions, some hate it, some so-so, some want to take the next big step
i'll just add the price part of the equation
cost of prop 19 - 1 million(best guess, maybe 2)
look on DEA and other low life law enforcement faces - priceless

VOTE NO!! sooo easy to get a card and have 6 plants and 8 ounces....i think this is gonna fuck it all up if its legalized...it needs to be decriminalized instead so we can jsut do whatever we damn feel like

tax it, regulate it, and CONTROL it. Are you pro 19ers starting to see the problem yet? Why would I want to vote to give the government more control over my herb? Keep it medical until it will truly be free..........

From Cali, and I will personally say cops do not care about weed in this state. It's already minimum priority, and as long as your not growing in say an apartment complex(too close to neighbors)..you won't be bothered.

*although you could definitely get away with a grow locker/cabinet in an apartment.

when i was in HS my mom said she was gonna call the cops on me when i got home cuz she found a dime bag of some skunk.... man scariest bus ride home lmao. the cop didnt even want to write me up because how little it was but my mom insisted to teach me a lesson. well lesson was she had to pay my fines and since she was also disabled my community service counted towards house chores lol...

what are the chances those who live in CA and have a state/federal job can get away with a card? granted urinalysis' wouldnt be an issue?

for those of yall who say 'get a card' i can see the arguement in it not being easy for those who have specific jobs and if somehow theyre'd be a connection with said job and being 'in the system' for pot.

Don't put Mary in the hands of capitalist cocksuckers. It might be cool for "recreational " to be legal, but the government fat cats get rich off YOUR ignorance.

VOTE NO ON 19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

State and Federal workers are being payed by my tax dollars. They aren't supposed to be stoned at work... Can you imagine Ben Bernanke giving a speech about the future of our nation stoned?

would their be any chance for a micro farm to exist, much like the Napa vally wine country? Say example if you had a fantastic flat space and unlimited water?

Or would it just end up at wall mart or grown in India and china with DDT and toxic pesticides with absolute no quality control?

I mean its going to be "Budweiser" of pot yes or will we have micro brew quality bud??

Where I live we dont smoke indoor if we have natural sunlight soil weed.
The nick name is "Chemmie bud" however I see we are in the minority as most every one appears to support mas produced warehouse weed or "Mc Weed"

Actually Im sure its just us triangle folks in the hills that think like I do.
I was reading many despensories in the bay area only buy hydro now and skip on the class A outside.

Help me understand, Iv always been the one to go againsed the flow, no cell phone, and I hate MTV, have not eaten meat in 30 years..yadda, yadda,

I will go the way of the do do bird im sure.

^^^ China or India? don't worry about that, not in this century
but it's wide open what you will see, county by county deal
it comes down to your local legislators, who can be squeezed by the voters much more easily than state or federal legislators

Ohh my bad, well why wouldn't a state worker be able to get a card? I don't about a federal worker though, seeing as it's still illegal in every sense.
