eh, well I guess most of us dont really have many to choose from within our lifetime... Any pres would do I guess as long as people dont just all say "LOL RONALD REAGAN CUZ MY GRANDPA SAID SO YO".
When I started the thread I had been thinking about the conversation I had with that man and he was telling me about Truman it actually inspired me to do a little research on him. Aside from being the man who ultimately authorized the Atomic bombing of Japan, and his "Fair Deal" (Only one of the major Fair Deal bills, the Housing Act of 1949, was ever enacted) he was partially responsible for the Berlin Airlift and was also around for the ratification of the 22nd amendment imposing term limits on Presidents.
I guess the idea is to get just that much more informed of the past... You know what they say, "you can't make good discisions in the future if you dont know your past".. I just wish more Americans took their right to vote seriously (but that's a diff discussion lol).

ronaldus magnus reagan. he loved this country and told anyone who didnt to stick it in their arse. lik all pres. he made some mistakes but over all, america was strong because he believed in the ideals of freedom.
one of his mistakes according to me was the war on drugs. should have been war on druglords and corrupt governments selling junk to preteens in inner cities should have been the target. not the users. lot of people sent to already overcrowded prisons for victimless crimes.

in 2008, i think we had about 62% turnout, which was the largest turnout since the 1960's, before they lowered the voting age to 18.
it's true, we suck at voting.

Voting is a useless practice when half the population is duped into who they vote for. Also, check out the studies done by Princeton about how the majority of our country votes.

The highest turn out for a Presidental election in recorded times was 1876. (Popular Votes totals were not kept before the 1828 election of Andrew Jackson) I think the turn out was like 72 or73%.
I do disagree with the statement that more people should vote.
What we need are more informed voters not just more.
As for my favorite I have to say my favorite would be Andrew Jackson or Teddy Roosevelt
