MG huh? That's what I used to use. For this last grow I made the switch to Fox Farm ocean forest or some shit...I'm liking it better so far. You should give this stuff a try FDD. But, of course, you can't argue with results so I don't know why I'm even telling you this lol.

that was 20 days,,if you know it looks better,,then I know where you've been,,lol,,,I just started to feed it last night,,so that was nothing but water at the time,,I'm kinda skeptical about the lights now,,,,,,,,I should just shove her in the closet,,I dunno,,was supposed to be a cfl grow,,but I never had these probs before with floro's and the big bangerit looks burnt a little to me. could have been the light or a little too much food. it looks like it's doing better now.

600 dollars for an HPS system? Are you high? ( Oh wait this is RIU so you probably are!) You can get a good starter HPS for 99 bucks...hashplant lets see your hps system then

So why dont u go and do some research on why people are doing this with cfl's..
Maybe they dont have that money... and for a hps system i'd say u need about atleast 600 dollars .... if u realy want to grow good...
Cfl's - 60 dollars..... - sum dirt - good seed - Watch it grow... its fun....
why would u want to take there fun away ? Or maybe u should make fun of em because they are learning ?

Was this thread, especially the wording of it, really necesary? I mean come on mods! Threads like this discourage up and comers from ever trying to grow because these supposedly "advanced" users bash all the tight-budgeted, more simplistic ways to grow. Did he ever stop and think that maybe not everyone has 600 dollars to blow on a light setup! Or maybe he forgot that not everyone has the space needed for such lights! Or maybe some people just like to grow with CFL's, like myself!

Right on dude - imo this thread was started to wind up CFL growers. I mean fine - he is entitled to his opinion - but he could have put it in a NON confrontational way.
The HPS squad need to remember that with conditions such as small spaces, small amount of plants and personal choice - people will continue to use them no matter what they say. We get results too.
Too much time on his hands.

Thank You! Exactly this wasn't just an opinion in a thread. It was an uncalled for attack. Many people I know have better luck with CFL grows than any other form of lighting. Have you people seen some of the amazing grows by CFL's on this site? 50x better than some of the plants grown by six or seven hundred dollar systems!

if someone wants to grow with glow sticks and dildo's for plant supports, who cares. would they be a dumb ass, probably. would they be happy, just doin what they like doin, probably. if people are happy using cfl's, then good for them and the same goes for hid. people should just be happy we are all advancing this great culture we all love. everybody knows hid will give you awesome results, but for a first timer it may be easier to go to wally world and grab a few bulbs and get started and learn and then fall in love with this shit. people judge too often and forget where they started, i love when(i call them pot snobs lol) say hahahahaha i bet when they get rid of those cfl's and get a hid, they will laugh at cfl growers too. myabe even if someone switches to a hid they wont make fun of cfl growers because some of us are not richard heads.

I live in an apartment, and can't really go cutting holes into the walls to ventilate an HPS/MH System. CFL's are tailor made for my situation. Therefore they are not "useless", if you have half a brain you will yeild a decent crop with CFL's. Everyone know HPS/MH system are superior to CFL's, thanks for pointing out the obvious though.
