I grow because I like to grow things. It's damn good fun. For the same reason I grow tomatoes and peppers and melons. And because I can't bear to spend that kind of money on something that I can grow myself.

I trim other people's shit for the money. It's seasonal work, it's boring, and it's tedious. But it's a nice chunk of change to spend on Christmas and help get through the winter, and I end up with pounds of good, close trim to make hash with.

I envy you and your life. It must be nice to be so well-to-do that you can look down your nose at the lowly peasant pot farmers of the world. In layman's terms: Bite rocks, man.

I just started growing. I am not doing it to make money, just to smoke up! I am so tired of paying for little better than dirt weed, waiting for my guy to get around to it, etc... So I'd have to say for the love of the bud!
+1 Hate paying 60-80 for little bag of crap. I want quality and I have learned so much.

Market in Humboldt is not hurt at all. They produce a ridiculous amount of amazing bud (If it's actually a farm they have hundreds of pounds) and sell it for way more expensive then they used to. Hell, I thought I was getting a great deal buying a pound for 1k, but my dad told me stories of 20-10 years ago getting bud for 15 an ounce... tops. If anyone in Humboldt wanted to make money they just need to take their buds 100 miles south, or east, and they will make some money. Take it to another state, other than Oregon, and they will be rich.
actually $1000 a pound is cheaper then it use to be. i remember in the early 90's when i was a kid and my

dad was selling pounds up here for $5000 a pound.

the only thing holding value up here is the indoor, all the outdoor s getting cheaper and cheaper,

i have a buddy that grew 700 pounds last year outdoor and he was selling pounds for $800 of Sour Diesel and Bubba Kush.

But then i have another buddy that has a 40 thousand watt indoor set up and just harvested 65 pounds and he is selling pounds for $3500

my point is the outdoor is getting cheaper in up here in Humboldt and the indoor is holding its value up here, thats why everybody up here now is doing both.

Dollar bills baby!

Back when I was really into smoking, I liked to grow becuase I'm good at it, and could grow way better pot than was available to buy.

Now I do it because I love and need the money (med caregiver) and enjoy hydroponics so much. It's just so cool to see the plants go from little baby clones to big, fat, stanky ass buds that make people feel better and enjoy their lives without being strung out on opiates all the time.

15 years and counting. I'll probably switch to flowers and veggies some day. I'll be growing inside forever.

In the beginning, 4 finger $15.00 bags were expensive. 1/4 seed, 2/3 leaf, and maybe a bud.
Found I could easily do better, but quality seed was a issue.
Through the years I'd do the proverbial (haphazard) outdoor grow from time to time.
Stayed that way for about 30+ yrs.
This year my spot got (questionably) compromised. (as in thieves)
Just getting into flower I yanked the plants. But, I got some cuttings first.
Started with clones under a CFL.
Built a cab that's mainly for veg,
Built a closet for flower.
Got hooked on the building and the issues that popped up. Meanwhile, the grow was moving along surprisingly strong.
Basicly using the K.I.S.S. method. CFLs in the cab, 250 in the closet.
Retired, big probs walking and other issues. Went for "the card" and danged! Got one!
No intention to sell, or even have enough to be able to.
Think I've become addicted to growing!!
Since it's definately not for profit, I guess you'd say, I love my new hobby. :bigjoint:
Always like having a veggie garden, but the legs just don't want to allow me the time. Indoor is soooo nice! I can do most from a chair if need be. (and sometimes it needs to be):weed:
Strange, in this state it's easier getting the MM card than a handicapped parking permit!!!! And I'm disabled! :wall:

Yeah, it's fucked. Everybody wants "dro". Fucking ignorant knobs. People are sheep. I could sell some of the outdoor I've seen this fall as "dro" to these fools and they'd be coming back for more.

I grow for many reasons but making money is not one of them. Saving money, yes... I love to grow plants of any kind but what's the best? MaryJane! I love all my plants. I just kill these eventually and smoke them.
