What is the best state not including Cali to grow outdoors? I know Cali has good temps and all that but theres sooo many growers there and the cost of living is way too high. I'm looking for somewhere that I can buy a house on a nice secluded piece of land but not too far from everything with a relatively low cost of living and good weed growing weather. I'm not really concerned about the laws so that doesn't matter. Anyone have any opinions on this?

The west coast is great man. Washington is an awesome place to live and grow as well as oregon. Plus the laws are more lenient.

Property values in any of the Pacific states are ridiculously overpriced, but I do hear parts of Oregon can be pretty cost-efficient and crunchy. 
Those 3 Pacific states do offer a superior climate to grow in. You could also look into the Eastern Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky area.
Very low cost of living, great climate/topography, plenty of sun, and plenty of moisture (most years). After Cali, it's the second greatest area for outdoor marijuana cultivation in the United States, according to our friends at the DEA.

I've seen some really amazing grows that Texans have done outdoors.
I've only been to Texas once (spring break at SPI back in '00) but I'd think that as long as you water when it needs to be watered, plants would flourish under that Texas sun.
Again, as long as you watch out for the heat in the summer, and keep the ladies moist enough, I'd think Texas would work out great. Also might have to account for water lose due to wind, as I know Texas can have its own special brand of sustained and powerful wind.
I'd be more personally worried about Mexican drug cartels, but I have irrational worries about things I don't understand....and I don't understand the violence that's going on across Texas' border.

As long as you can keep your soil cool enough on those hot texas summers I don't see why not. But honestly the pacific states are the best. And property isn't over priced. In my opinion living in Texas would blow. For growing it might be okay if you can spend a lot of time with your plants. Depending on the strain plants can live and thrive in many different climates all around the world.

If you've ever wanted to buy property in a Pacific coast state. and compared similar stretches of land, all things being equal, with other parts of the country, you'd get a wake up call on real estate prices.
I mean, the west coast is great, just be prepared to pay AT LEAST $100-$200,000 more for an equal piece of property almost anywhere else in the U.S.

I would have to agree that the West Coast is obviously a fantastic spot. However, I think that Southern Florida also provides great outdoor growing conditions with its long summer and slow approaching winter

Fl was another place I was looking at... I'd want to live in the Miami area but theres not really any houses with land that are secluded right?
I wish I could but Property is way overpriced, taxes are way too high, and it's way too crowded.

there is a lot of relatively cheap properties all over northern california... i know of a "county community" as they call it in sacramento county called vineyard. lots of big properties and if u find one without a house on it and build a house urself its not bad. my uncle bought a 1 acre lot with a 3bdr house and 4 car garage for $170,000 in vineyard.

In south Florida the size of property and homes varies so much that you are bound to have some that have a decent space for very successful grows. And as for being crowded, it allllll depends where you are. But if you can find your niche, that Florida Sun and humidity can be a gift

Plants can definitely be grown in texas, as their weather sometimes is like ours. As long as the plants are well watered, 115F heat a few days in a month will not hurt the plant at all. However, being legal to grow here and life in prison in texas, you can see where its better to grow.

lol MIAMI growing in your yard they will catch you b4 harvest i used to live there with in one month they raided 8 indoor grow houses and thats just the ones that made it onto the news they got helicopters looking at all times fo the shit..................but in the everglades you can get away with it
