I just plan on having 1-2 plants going at a time. I dont have the room for more. What about one with a reflector and one hanging?
The one i have at the moment is a blue spec, would i be better going for another blue or go for a red and rotate the plant(s) every day?

both hanging down pal, the reflectors really do you no favors. if you get another cfl go for the red and rotate. but if you can afford it go for a hps, seen a couple 600w on ebay for 70 stg. thats a reflector, ballast, and bulb. new aswell

haha like the thread, i live in PA but am iirish....
anyways i am doing my first micro grow an was wondedring when to start lst, i figured about the third node but no to sure. also i seem to have a bit of a gnat problem, just a few but wanted to know if its something i should worry about??

4th node minimum there veecoman, emigrant haha what part of Ireland were you born? As for your gnats the cheap way is a tobacco shower or you can fork out for a good pest killer on the net, just go for pest killers for edible food not for flowers.
Thanks jimmy there's more to weed than gettin stoned lol a hell of a lot more, irishmc I'd go for a red spectrum to complete your light spectrum or fill it in as much as.

Nah lads, Southsider here, just dont wanna be too specific, incase the Gardai that grow themselves at home are signed up here,lol. With the 400w light with digi ballast, tent, fan, filter, ducting and easi-rollers it cost me €490...got it in a retail establishment on South Williams street (dont wanna link the paticular establishment with MJ cultivation, but its got the same name as an online seed bank...the one I got my Snow White from), would definately recommend that place. If you go in with a shopping list of stuff they will do discounts on some of it, my DR80 only cost €100 cos they didnt have the cheaper one (DRS80) so he gave me the more expensive one at the SALE PRICE the cheaper one was going at! I got the digital ballast for I think €15 more than a magnetic one AND they always have 99% of what you want in stock. I wouldnt go anywhere else unless they didnt have something I wanted and couldnt get it in...anyways cant wait to see these flower either, gonna run 1 for 8 weeks and the rest for 10 (wanna have a bit of predried smoke for harvest night, always a good call!). Anyways baked and rambling bit style here, peace!

Best thing I done was get rid of my magnetic ballast and buy digital ones. Although starting off with a 250w security light done the job for €70...... Bargain...

I'd go for hps mate instead of another 125 clf, I don't think mixing your bulbs will make that much of a difference but it's the nice little touches that makes it your own little grow room....!

I wouldn't be surprised if it snows tonight! When I said I wanted to grow my own weed the Mrs. said "Don't get involved with that". Tonight she came home and said " After the day I've had I'd love a big fat J". So now I've got full approval from the other half and my grow has just gone from something I would have to hide in the boiler room to something I might get away with having a grow tent in the house for!! Sweet! I'm stoked!

I only have a small grow box. Its about 3 1/2 ft high. Thats why i went with the auto's. The heat would be a bit much plus the cfl's will keep the bills down which is always a good thing

The heat will be fine with that much height, so long you have enough air in and out, better still use a cool tube....
The esb bill will be the same as using two 125cfl but you'll get more and better bud..
I'd defo go for HID...

Whats the story with the digital ballasts Jay? Why are they so good?

Well...
First of all... they use less power... your bulb lasts longer... Less noise from the ballast.. Most can run both bulbs (MH & HPS)
I have to say id only use cfl for veg and clones, if you really want bud then HID is the only really...
