Germinating your seeds

I am germinating my seeds by the "dropping them in a cup of water" method. Its been over 24 hrs and the seeds haven't cracked. How long do they usually take to crack with this method? How long till I should give up on these seeds?

helps to lightly stir them around a bit...the ones that have even the smallest crack in them will sink...those will be the first to sprout

some seeds producers advise against everything other than germinating in soil, because doing what youve done or the wet paper towel method can cause problems and is not really a natural way for cannabis seeds to germinate.
however many people do what youve done and get good results,so just be patient.

IF your using "cup of water" technique, do not leave your seeds in more then 24h, couse they might get too wet or suffer oxygen deprivation, and rot. Once soked seeds are ready to be placed between moist paper towels, in a warm and dark location (70-90F , 21-32C).

I left mine in a cup of water for 3 days and they cracked open and rooted perfectly. I tried the paper towel method and it never worked, I lost maybe 7 seeds doin it that way. I think you should keep it in the cup of water and give it a few days. :).

Soak for a day, then into soil, place under the sun (sunlight coming indoors is the best) with a humidity cover. That's it.

Growing your own pot will teach you patience in life. You find its better to be patient with your seeds and plants than not to for a variety of reasons.

This is exactly what I do and works well.

The easiest way to germinate seed and ignore myths and contradicting advice is to just put them in soil or a seed starting mix, just the way nature intended....

while you sit..staring at soil in a cup..waiting for what could be a bunk seed to pop...id rather know that my seed is going to sprout...ive tried it every way possible...every time ive planted after getting a taproot from soaking in water..paper towels......it sprouts...where as half the time when i just planted them in soil did they sprout....any way you do it is natures way...everything is part of nature...dolphin cum is natural...its part of nature...but i wouldnt put it in my soil

I would put dolphin cum in my soil, why not. Its proteins.

When sprouting seeds in soil you use small cups so if they don't pop - put the soil in a bag and use it when repotting the ones that did sprout.
Its really ain't a big deal.

I get 95%+ germ rate with bought mj seeds, so its really not that much of a worry here.
