No need to apologize, it's okay to ask a question or two, especially now that the test has been ended, prematurely, I might add.lol There are tons of options, for nutes, so it's almost impossible for me to say "use 'brand X', it's the one you want". Your main decision, is whether you want to go with organic, or chemical, nutes. Other than that, nitrogen is nitrogen,(for example) no matter what brand you choose. Yes, there are some differences, but unless you are a skilled grower, fine-tuning your grow,(or getting ready for the Cannabis Cup.lol) I wouldn't worry about it. What you should be looking for, is a veg-biased fert, high in N. Also, it's likely that you didn't see any change with your 6-week old clones, because they weren't hungry yet. Plants aren't like animals. They won't take in what they don't need, and if they aren't lacking, they don't need fed. They can't be force-fed, and get big and fat, like people can. If all their nute requirements are satisfied, the best way to speed things up, is to increase lighting. Anyway, I'm getting side-tracked....I use Dynagro nutes, which contain all the necessary micro nutes, and are a good choice, for new growers. Very easy to use, cheap, and work great. Thanks for the input. Do you have an opinion on the nutes as far as working with MG? Simpler the better for me. I have some 4 weeks from seed, I was thinking very light Big Bloom but been afraid to try it. I tried it on 6 week old (practice) clones the last watering and I don't see anything different. I'm also trying to find the best way to boost the N without messing up P and K. I am learning the ropes here so I am sorry if it's rude of me to post on this thread. Thanks again!
I'm not sure what you mean by "messing up the P and K", but I can say that if you use a fert high in N, during veg, that you won't have to worry about overdosing the P and K. They are all being used, simultaneously, not just the N, although nitrogen is recognized as the dominant nutrient used, during veg(building foliage). There's really no risk of "messing it up", unless you do something extreme, like using a fert which contains just P, for example.
