My post was referring to Glenn Beck in the clip, not you personally. They are just ridiculous accusations. I believe what I'm told, I believe that I was quoting direct from the bill itself? lol

I think someone else here might be listening to what they are told rather than reading the truth?

so i am a sheep?

you honestly believe and stated in black and white that "this is the first step to complete corporate takeover of the food supply" without knowing ANYTHING. you jump to ridiculous, far-fetched conclusions without a SHRED of evidence to back it up, and when i call you out on it, you say i'm a sheep?

you need to up your meds, or present to me a SOLID case, based on SOLID evidence, that what you assert is true.

otherwise you are just an alarmist, a chicken little, a douchebag.

i'd rather be a sheep than a chicken little.

What's Grandma say about S. 510? She will remember when Farms were owned by Families.

:leaf::peace::leaf:

want to place a bet on that?

No I was wondering what Grandma Bucky's opinion on Congress regulating who can sell food, since she has enjoyed fluoridated water for 85 years and chases deer out of her garden...The family farm has been gone since FarmAid...Flockmeister;)...I know, I know...you know a guy who knows a guy who knows a farmer who is not leasing Grandpa's land back from ADM and who makes more money than he pays out to Monsanto for Round-up and RU ready seed...you got me...the Family farm is alive and well and S. 510 will help protect us from them:roll:

How many people die each year from Drowning?
How many people die each year from slip and falls?
How many people die each year from Electrocution?
How many people die each year from Tobacco?
How many people die each year from Alcohol?
How many people die each year in Wars?
How many people die each year from Homicide?

I could go on and on and on with examples of things that kill FAR MORE people than food borne illnesses. Why don't we have Bills in congress to control all of those things I listed? I mean if Homicide kills approx 20 times more people than Food and homicide is illegal, then I would have to say that by making some food illegal you will actually start killing the people you think it would save. There are always unintended consequences to Govt intervention, and you think that Gov't is benevolent and has nothing but good intentions. The opposite is true whether you want to wake up and believe it or not.

Yes you are a sheep, I found a photo of you.

Notice you are being sheared. Yet you have such a docile expression on your face, might be from too much exposure to dancing with the stars or Housewives of OC.

Hey if you don't like wholesome nutritious foods but instead prefer processed foods with 1/2 the ingredients unpronounceable the more power to ya.

Stay ignorant of your civil liberties, thats what they are counting on.

Drowning:

Many states have regulations that make pool owners surround their pool with a fence to help prevent drownings. There are also laws in place requiring that life vests be on board boats.

Slipping and falling:

OSHA has many rules that help prevent those deaths.

Electrocution:

Many OSHA laws and state laws regulating electricity and electricians to help prevent electrocution.

Tobacco:

Federally mandated warning labels saying it will kill you.

Alcohol:

The FDA is banning an alcoholic beverage right now. Obviously there are regulations.

Wars and homicide:

really? There are laws on the books about those too.

Face it, we are all sheep. Some of us are just in different flocks.

Then put a fence around organic gardens and a warning label saying it may cause cancer resistance.

Hell...as long as regulation is good...why not mandate how, when and where you can make love to your wife??? What to feed your dog??? What kind of lightbulbs you use.

Just because regulation exists does not mean that more is better in all cases.

Some cultures stone people or cut off hands for moral crimes...maybe we should expand this also???

You can not say certain things in certain places...it makes us safer...would not more restrictions on speech make us safer?

Gangsters use certain weapons in their crimes...how about house to house searches?

Limiting the power of Government is what will make us safer. Our Constitution does this. Accept no dilution of freedom.

Fences do not stop people from drowning, if you believe that you are being fooled. Fences stop people from falling into pools. A fence around a pool will not prevent a swimmer in that pool from drowning. A fence around a pool will not prevent a Alaskan fisherman from drowning in the Bering sea. Do you see the absurdity of it all?

OSHA has no say in your home, most slip and fall accidents happen in the home.

OSHA does not regulate whether or not your kid sticks a butter knife in the light socket.

You can't regulate stupidity.

I don't need a label to tell me that drinking copious amounts of alcohol will cause problems, Ive been there done that. Doesn't take much intelligence to realize that drinking a liter of vodka is not going to improve your driving skills.

Same with Tobacco, Everyone knows its bad for you, I quit years ago. I don't need a label telling me it might cause problems, the morning hack I woke to every day told me that.

there are no laws against war.

If those regulations actually worked, how come we still have deaths from all of those things I listed? And why don't the numbers go down? Year after Year the same percentages of deaths happen, irregardless of all the regulations they pile on.

Its like the 40 years of the drug war. we still have 1.8% of the population addicted, just like we did in 1920 and in 1969. The laws haven't changed anything because they are ineffective.

that would be fine and dandy if it was ONLY about deaths. but here in this real, non conspiratorial driven world, people also get mighty SICK or ILL from food borne illnesses.

i am perfectly aware of my civil liberties.

i am also sane enough not to spout off that this bill will be the start of complete corporate takeover of the food supply:dunce:

keep living in your alarmist, sensationalist, chicken little world. i will go on living in my sane and mundane world. you can feel free to stop by anytime :)

People don't get sick or ill from tobacco or alcohol or get hurt from slips and falls? For every 1 person who gets killed in a slip and fall how many HUNDREDS do you think got hurt? Your argument carries no water.

Are you absolutely sure you are sane? Have you taken tests that affirm this? Or is it opinion based?

I live in the same world as you do, one full of coercion, greed, ignorance, labels, spin and corruption, there also happens to be great beauty, compassion, Selflessness, and love.

What are your civil liberties? Do they include the right to say NO to unelected bureacracies ? If small farms were not required to do something and then they become "required" to do something by a legislative act what should happen to those that say they won't do it
or those who continue to consensually buy from the "illegal" small farms?
