They are just making a higher profit per pound this time of year and being more selective. Just like in may-end of July they are less selective and make a lower profit. The bud that's being sold for $1600 a pound right now will sell for $2600 in the summer. Happens every year.
bizness is a beeyatch. they make what they can when they can like any other bizness. they would rather sell less at mark up than drop prices and compete. they set the whole bizness up around seasonal outdoor's market affect.
hell nah. most of these growers are people with no job skills and no work experience and no resume... changing careers is not that easy. and when you've been making easy money for generations because of prohibition it is difficult to accept hard work for fair pay.
Nope. Quite the opposite. When prices go down people expand to compensate.
nobody is selling indoor in cali right now. the outdoor is just as good and waaaaay cheaper.

Sure, they both can be just as good. However on the average indoor is significantly better than outdoor. It's not just the trim, although I do know what you're saying there. It's a matter of climate and light control. Growing high quality indoor is just easier and there are less things out of your control that can go wrong. It doesn't rain indoor and humidity is under control. You aren't at the mercy of mother nature. You flower when ever you want, co2, etc. You harvest based on exactly when the plant is done as apposed to what the weather forecast says. Optimally a sealed greenhouse is best since the sun > HPS.Hey, let's not go there

I love great indoor and outdoor, and have a hard time telling the difference between great indoor and great outdoor that has been trimmed properly. Its all about the trim, that's why people think outdoor is weaker, it generally is trimmed less and has a higher leaf:calyx ratio. But calyx to caylx or bubble to bubble, indoor and outdoor can both be world class (so many factors).
No but, and I shit you not, some folks are talking about growing vegetables. Tomatoes, peppers, etc.
