Sweet. I had the same problem on another forum too. Trolls used to upset me, now I just pity their lives. Feel sorry for someone who is so unhappy that he gets off trying to make others unhappy as well.

Well I just stumbled on this thread and I am in wa so I really think how your treated depends on the location and how the cop you are dealing with feels...I grow using the caregiver forms for my ex when we split I had to call the cops for my safety he took his card and yelled in the backround as I was talking to 911 I had an illegal grow op so they asked about it and I told them he had just ripped up my papers that made me legit to try and get me a possession charge so when the cops arrived they went in to check it out at that point he stopped being a bitch and handed over the card and ripped up papers they came back and told me nice looking garden and keep it under 40 (limit here is 15) but no hassle other than the search of the house the ex consented to....also last night he was out picking up meds and was pulled over for a headlight that was out they made him do a field sobriety test in the snow hassled him even after seeing the card but let him go after like 30minutes...as I said I feel the outcome just depends on different variables but in wa they can still confiscate your meds and take you to jail till you can prove there was medical necessity to have the card if cops want to be dicks here they can bust most won't bother

Trolls are a big problem here as well as anywhere on the internet mods here are cool I have flipped a few times I'm told you have every right to defend yourself but make sure you report to them first!

Out of the 300+ members in our club nobody has been hassled. You have your card and within our state limits and it's: have a nice day" If ya dont ya go to jail. I had several meetings with our local leo's and prosecutor to make sure they where training their depts to handle the new law and they've seemed to done well with leaving us alone. So far so good in the sw corner... I know of several folks stopped and checked and grows checked and everyone was left alone. It was " have a nice day and sorry to have bothered you"..

This is what I did as well. I actually gave a tour of my grow to two of them so they could inspect it to verify that I was abiding by all laws. The funniest part was when they valued my plants(4) that yielded a total of 5 1/2 oz at a total of over $15,000. They have been told to estimate $4000 per plant!

Dude thats pretty foolish. You should NEVER let those cops in without a warrant. If they actually have reason to believe someone's safety is in immediate danger they are allowed to barge in anyway, and they WILL if that's the case. If that is not the case then they need a warrant to enter. Sounds like they were on a fishing expedition and you kept biting at that hook.So let me get this right. You were walking your dogs (plural, meaning more than one) and some bike cop smelled vapors off you from the corner over the smells off your dogs, and so you flashed him your card ?

That innate sense of smell that nearly every law enforcement officer seems to have when phishing for a bust when it comes to weed, but what baffles me is if all law enforcement officers have this extra sense, we'll call it, and the bike cop had it, why didn't you ?
Since from your story, you were obviously able to be smelled over dogs from a street corner.

Anyways, a few months ago there was a power outage and severe weather issues, and at about 4 in the morning after the storm settled, there was a pounding on my friend's door.
Since she was sleeping, and I just fired up the bowl, I walked over to the door, and in my best tough guy voice yelled, 'Who is it?'
I heard back immediately that it was the police. I walked out the other door, around the side of the house in a compassion club t-shirt, and a pair of hershey kiss pajama bottoms over to the front of the house where they were at. I asked the officers what they were doing or needed. They told me there was a 911 hang up made from this address. I looked at them, and then at what I was wearing, like c'mon, it's the middle of the night. I then was told that they needed to come in to make sure everyone was safe. I told them the phone wasn't even working so how could a call have been placed to 911 from here. The other cop chimed in and mentioned there were problems with the phone due to the storm. I then, once again, reiterated, that if this was the case there was probably a false call sent out that way. The cop that chimed in agreed, and his partner shot him a dirty glance. At this, I began to worry, as I wasn't trying to be argumentative or get one of the cops to side with me, but I could clearly see the other cop was beginning to get upset. The cop that was beginning to get upset said to me, 'we really need to make sure everyone is safe, then we can get out of your hair. If your worried about that marijuana I can smell all the way out here. Don't worry, I don't care about that. I just need to check on the safety of everyone in the house.'
I explained I had a card and that wasn't any concern of mine to be frank with him.
At this, I decided to give them entrance, as they entered this door through the kitchen, there was a freshly packed bowl of some crazy organic fire laying out, with vapors just filling the kitchen. Both officers looked at each other, probably in agreement that this was indeed the fire.lmao.
They proceeded into the front hallway while I tried for 5-10 minutes to wake up the other person at the house. While they waited, the angry cop started shining lights on the art on the wall, and asked me to explain some of it to his partner, in particular a promotional poster for Rubber Johnny by Chris Cunningham. lololol
Since it was 4 in the morning and this other person wasn't getting up quick enough, the angry cop starts to fish. He asks me for my card. I said to him, 'I thought you weren't concerned about that, and were just checking on the safety of the occupants of the house.' He replied, 'yeah, just get it.'
I got my card out of my pants on the floor and show it to him. He studies it for a minute, and then asks what it's for. I replied that's registered with the Dept. of Health and Human Resources. He shot a glare at his partner, and said to me, 'really, what's it for ?'
As I was tempted to reply HIV or something else he would probably run from since he was obviously fishing and at this point disrespecting my privacy and kind of being a dick. I told him one of my conditions that I received my card for, and he responded 'that's all I asked'
He then asked why the address on my card didn't match the address he was at, and I explained because 'I don't reside here.'
At around this point the other person poked there head out of the door, and said they were fine. I guess this was enough info or harassment to secure the house, since the angry cop handed me back my card, and then without saying a word turned around and started leaving the way he came in with his partner following him. I tried telling them, 'thanks for coming and checking on the safety and security of the house, officers.', but the angry cop seemed angrier now, and was walking off muttering. not sure what the deal was with that, but no probs with this experience other than a nosy muttering officer that I extended every courtesy on my part other than offering up an toke.
btw, to others reading this, I was being nice. I didn't have to be. In fact, I didn't have to even answer the door let alone give out privileged confidential information that is really between just me and my doctor.
I have checked with several law groups and have also spoke with someone from the ACLU. Everyone told me the same thing. You are not allowed to be grilled over what your MMP card was issued for, and to do it continually in a harassing or threatening matter, under certain pretenses opens up grounds for me to sue for harassment. Law enforcement or not.
Law enforcement are only allowed to check your card by verifying your # on your card with the record on file. They call a number, and check it, and that is all the information they are given. You do not have to give them any more information than handing them your card and id. As far as budlover13 goes, whether you are a cop or not, previously or otherwise, there are stop and check procedures that law enforcement goes through that you don't even have to participate in any way. It is very similar and basically the same police procedure that dictates you try to self-incriminate the person being pulled over in a traffic stop by asking them immediately, 'do you know why I pulled you over'.
Everyone should become familiar with laws in general, not just in your area. and legalese, for sure.

Easy guys, he's just posting and matters not. As I stated we've not had a problem regarding the new law and most cops(or leo's as ya will) smoke themselfs. Hell I've several cops thats in my club and being caregivers for extra cash. several of my patients are over 70 so let a shitbig cops tell them mj is just for stoners. They wont have there job for long as I'll pound them into the dirt...... Over the past 2 years I've pounding our prosecutor and sherriff into the new law. You bust one of my club members and we'll sue your socks off,,,period.......... Ya want to bust folks for growing, then ya better be DAM sure thier not patients or caregivers or we'll SUE YOUR ASS OFF,,, PERIOD.....
I've spoken to countless groups about MJ and if working the patients needs ,,you get no problems. It's when they see dispens's and such thats get them bitchin. I aggree with them on that point completely but will pound them senceless over the medical use. If your mom was dieing from cancer and could only eat if she smoked a bit of mj, would ya tell her she'll a worthless stoner try'in to get high, or help her out ??? Our prosecutor said he'd help her and sees my point.. We changed his out look on Mj and saved countless folks from being hasseled over trying to help themselfs.
I've talked to countless groups and have not found ONE that would disspute medical use. Hell the ol folks home in my area contacted us on helping them set up there patients so lets drag them into court and see if a jury convicts me for suppley'in them with meds while they die. If they do I'll do it anyways as they need it so bust away dickheads bust away.........
Hell my 80 yr ol father-in-law with cancer just tried some brownies I made and it help him sleep and eat a bunch. Now he's doing better and his doc's said mj helped,,, so bust aways dickheads,,,, bust away..... I'll make ya famous. Go home and tell your sweet wife ya busted someone helping dieing folks cuz ya think your cool. You'll just prove to be a ass and costing your county 10000's in legal fees for nothing.

You are my new hero! Thanks for all you do. I'm trying to fight the fight but it's hard to get people to understand. My wife is still worried CPS is gonna find out about my card and take my kids. I finally get the "patients not criminals" poster.... So again thanks. We all need to work together so LEO know what's up. I'm in St. Clair county and have only heard of people getting in trouble over to many plants or thinking they are cool with the dr cert and never send in the 100 and app to the state.
For the record. I look her for MICHIGAN info only. The Cali info only waste my time. Not saying I don't want to know your experiences just not when I'm in minchigan and need info exclusive to me.
