lol first off dna bit my strain... and my strains name.... there wasnt any sourkush untill i created a buzz that some epople wanted to capitalize on..... I PROMISE YOU THIS.... YOU HAVE NEVER SMOKED ANY SATIVA THAT WOULD MAKE ME TAP....
Keep telling yourself that if that is what you need to believe.

example.... everybody raves about nevilles haze..... its near pure sativa.... to me its just some good bud.... what strain will have me crying to my mommy?????
While Sam the skunkman claims Neville never met with the Haze Brothers that is untrue. A number of years back, around roughly 2000, a cannabis publication had an article where one of the Haze Brothers were asked what actually happened. He said they did meet with Neville and they did share some genetics with Neville, but not all they had. Neville was not trusted by them and part of what they wanted in return for sharing their genetics was that some would remain in it's pure form, including breeding stock, and be offered to the public as it was, in the form Neville would receive it in. He said yes but the Haze Brothers did not trust him and they held back their genetics they felt were their very best.

But if you think that comparing Neville's Haze to Panama Red or Dalat, or Colombian Gold or Acapulco Gold or Durban Poison or Malawi Gold and the various Thai and Laotian sativas of the 60's and early 70's, all in their real true pure forms and not in the polluted forms that some breeders try to pawn off as being the real deal, is a valid comparison then as I said, you lack an equal frame of reference and any discussion is just a waste of time. I have tried MANY of the various strains today that carry the name of the old school pure sativas and I have never yet found one that I could begin to believe was in fact the Real McCoy. Some were pretty darn good herb, but none were the real deal, that I can assure you of.

So again I ask you, was it in 1960-what or in 1970-what that that you sampled true Real McCoy old school pure sativas like the ones I mentioned above? If it was not in either of both of them then, again, you lack an equal frame of reference. Keep in mind that I have smoked those, and many others of the era, in their pure forms, and I have smoked just about every famous strain ever since. I have personal experience with them all which is something you evidently totally lack.

I would love to see you, and all the other puppies like you, sit down and smoke some real true Dalat like my brother in law brought home from Vietnam. It would be hilarious. You puppies wouldn't know if you were afoot or horseback. Many of you wouldn't even know where you were if you were in your own home and the rest wouldn't be 100% sure about it.

It is always so funny to me when people like yourself who never experienced strains like I am talking about, not so much as one single time, people who have never seen true hardened party commandos totally lost in space from just one or two hits, and who later refused to believe that the pot wasn't laced with something, which it was not, because they had never been so high before, claim the strains they have had ZERO experience with are nothing compared to the crap they smoke today and actually believe is not only good but even better than strains they were never lucky enough to experience so much as one single time in their entire life.

Still you want and need to believe that you know better.

hey bradas...when i moved here in the south east asia coming from LA like a year and a half ago...there was no other strain available except the landraces, the pure virgin sativa. smells like sweet spicy mango when dried and cured properly, of course it came from the mountain regions here planted by uncivilized natives which you can get less than a $100 for a trash bag, but very dangerous for city people to be going up there. the govmnt dont mind them at all since they have been using it for the longest time and its part of there lifestyle, the thing is the males and the females were planted all together so you got yourself a lot of seeds when you get it from them. and dries it out under the sun. i have been smoking it until i dediced to get myself seeds from different breeders via the single seed center and attitude.

all i could say is that i have smoked and just harvested a pure sativa at its best...planted a bunch of seeds all together and finished flowering for more than 6-7 mos bummer right...

this was has good has it got back then... donesticly grown seedless, unbricked MID grade mexican......
If that is what you need to believe to feel good about what you smoke, that and that the other pictures you posted were truly representative of the best of the best of the late 60's and early to mid 70's, that's cool and the gang with me.

But in that you were not there yourself and that you did not personally see and experience all that was available what you are doing is about the same as you trying to tell Neil Armstrong what it was actually like to fly to the moon and then walk on it as if he would not know that you did not have a clue about what you were talking about.

I am not, and never would, claim that every single strain that existed in that era was fantastic, because many were not. But there were some that were so incredible that there is no way in the world that anyone who never experienced them could ever begin to understand what they were like. No amount of explaining by anyone could get you to begin to understand. Trying to explain to someone like you who totally fails to share a common frame of reference would be like attempting to describe the colors of a rainbow to someone who had been blind since birth and who has no conception whatsoever of what any color is, well other maybe than black if you told them what they see/do not see is what we call black. After that no amount of words or explaining or attempts so compare would ever be enough to be able to make the blind person be able to grasp even one single color, let alone what a rainbow looks like.

That is my attempting to tell you about strains that you have never experienced in your entire life. Yet you are like a person born blind attempting to fool people into believing that you know what ever color in a rainbow actually looks like.

OK, so you never smoked the Real McCoy, but based on what you smoked you like to believe that you know all about strains that I was smoking and growing way back before you were likely even swimming around in some guy's nutsack.

Unless the person who grew what you smoked had Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine and went back in time to find true Panama Red seeds I would bet my left nut that the Panama Red in the cross was not true Panama Red.

I have tried just about every single breeder's 'Panama Red,' along with most all other strains they sell that carry the names of famous past strains, and I have never found one that equaled what I knew to be the real deal.

I like many strains, some of them are various crosses, even some with some indica in them, but if you want to know my most favorite strains, they all come from Reeferman.

Willie Nelson

Phnom Penh (Normally listed as Cambodian)

Haze Brothers Original Haze

As for the real true old strains still existing. I have to believe they still exist in nature but I have never run across any sold by any breeder that when I grew it, it was close enough to what I remember it being to believe it was the 100% real deal. I would say it is likely that in most, if not all, cases of breeders selling strains with the names of the famous old strains that they are lucky enough to have a male or a female, but not both, and they have picked some other sativa that they felt would be as close as they could get to matching what they needed, and crossed them and gave them the old name as if they were the Rel McCoy.

There are a few I have not tried yet. Afro Pips Malawi Gold is one I want to try. It is a 105 day strain and might possibly be the real deal or at least close to it and still good enough to enjoy.

If I could find Breeder Choice Organisation's Colombian Black I would like to try it. It is a 150 day strain, almost 21-1/2 weeks. It has to be at least something close or very similar to one of the real old school strains, if not actually being one.

I have said this so many fucking times it's now almost meaningless to see someone else say it.

I am glad to know that at least one other person has realized the truth. I have said it for years but for some inexplicable reason many, MANY growers/tokers want and or need to believe that whatever is newer or new is always an upgrade, an improvement when all most strains are is the same basic genetics given a new name, a go faster stripe, and marketed just like "New Coke" was. And just like "New Coke," they suck, they are not only not better, they are not as good as many much older strains.

Without even going back to the 60's or the 70's, and instead just back a decade and a half or two, there are strains that won 2nd place and 3rd place Cups that are much better than almost every single new 'flavor of the month' strain that is released today.

As P.T. Barnum said; "There's a sucker born ever minute," and 'The Dutch Masters' and many other breeders are ever so grateful that P.T. Barnum was 100% correct.
