iim sure you could contact kessil direct and ask them for a supplier over there or maybe they would give you a direct one wired for you

Oright dave, I'm in the UK too. Decided I wanted a set up with kessil lights, but cant actually find them anywhere. I'd love to know if there's some big UK hydro store I dont know about. KK - congrats on your win you lucky b@s*%d!! Viagro - I cant get one from the US (a kessil) as the states run a different voltage system & it'd proably blow up. They are supposed to be available here tho so I'll just keep looking. Hows your lady(s)?

I'm a UK grower wanting some LED's
Reading just cosfused me tho what's every1 recomend??? Preferbly UK supplier as its gonna cost a bomb from US or china
As you can imagine there are lots of opinions on what's best. I'm running a journal right now (check out my sig) trying out some lights that I have never seen run before , their parent company makes the ISIS that LedbudGuy just had great success with. Some people on here swear by their Blackstar and it is certainly the cheapest. Irishboy (google that one) has done well with Spectra and got results (grams per watt) similar to LedBudGuy. Have a look through them and check out the different plant numbers, mediums, heights etc and see what might be most compatible with your grow style.

I wouldn't rule out mail order lights as shipping across the ponds isnt' that outrageous if you don't do express delivery and can often be worth it especially if you find a light you really like. I do think that LED's ship well as they are not prone to breakage like glass lights.

As for power configurations, when I ordered mine they had a European power option in the checkout cart and I'd be surprised if most of the mainstream manufacturers didn't have the same option.

Happy shopping :-)

Im using it in my veg tent for rockwool/coco yes you can use drippers with soi no problem. Get a timer for the pump make sure its a digi so you can set for 1 min intervals and then get adjustable drippers and you can compleetely control how much water you give to em. You should be able to acomplish that drip no problem. If you set your drippers at 1gph and run them for 1 minute an hour well you get the picture you do the math for what you need. But it should do it no prob. No one can tell you run time you have to experiment with that as even soils all drain differently than others. So Figure out how fast your soil drains and set y our drippers to that. You will have to watch it close for about a week or so til you figure how much water your plants are using and stuff like that but it totatlly works my grandpa has been runnin one for his house plants for YEARS now.
Hey Kron do you run straight water with TRF's or is your watering system dispensing a nute mix? If you are running nute mix what kind (salts/organic) and do find you have to clean your drippers often? Just wondering if they clog up or get restricted on low volumes after a while.

I will have to look when I get home,
There are a few rows of whites, 8 sounds about rought, like you said and the rest multi spectrum reds and a total of 4 ir bulbs I believe. There are also a few blues in 2 different spectrums placed throughout the middle

Everything is balanced and symmetrical in the layout and I will try to take a photo for ya if you would like to see

The company listed all the waver lengths and wattage in an old email I'll have to see if I can dig up
Would appreciate that...thanks. :-)

Thats Hydroponics Hut (HH) and they run a very different configuration than any other manufacturer that I know of and I'm very interested to see how they do in a full run. Most other manufacturers all use primarily red and blue led's to target the four peaks of Chlorophyll A & B. They often throw in a couple whites, IR and UV but in very low ratios to the reds and blues.

The largest part of HH panels output comes from 3 Watt WHITE CREE HO leds. According to their tech info on their web site these are three different spectrums so I'm guessing that represents warm, neutral and cool white, but it is all white light. About 70% of the power of their panels is to produce white light. The balance consists of 1W 630nm and 660nm Bridgelux reds and some IR and UV.

There is a guy on here Cerreal who is using one and just about to flower and he mentioned it had some blue LED's in it too which their website doesn't mention but he might have an older/different model or could be that the cool white LED's look slightly blue.

If you go on their website under "Information" and click on their media and grow gallery they have a video of a MJ grow and a bunch of pics of various other grows. The video was posted Dec 24th and covered the first 24 days of flower and I was kinda hoping they post a follow up for the next three weeks but nothing yet.

There is also a guy on this site Turttle who ran a journal with these lights. On his first run the plant went Hermie and on the second run he triggered clones accidentally and the results weren't great so not really a fair evaluation.

The only thing that I have noticed is that in the video, the pictures and Turttles runs all the plants look really leggy as they get into flower. The exception is the pictures of some MJ at nine weeks growth under 260W panels. They look very nice and full but they have no bud production so I don't think they were triggered yet. They aren't very big for 9 weeks but that could totally be strain or maybe they were started from seed.

I'm really like to see how these panels do on a full run and see if HH is onto something with the red and whites or if they are prone to producing leggy plants.

If anyone has one and has flowered with it would love some input.

Cheers

For anyone interested. Been wondering what the engineering behind Kessil is. Heard lots of different opinions about it being a 35W diode to being a collection of 5 or 6W diodes. Anyway.....just came across this.

"For example, our H150 grow light uses a dense matrix platform that carries 21 LED chips in a circle smaller than a dime!"

that's an excerpt from the page linked below....

http://www.kessil.com/about/different_breed_of_led.php

Most people on here are probably familiar with the 3W/3 chipset where each LED contains 3x1W diodes under a plastic lens. Kessil put 21 diodes in a single housing and use a glass lens. Gonna hazzard a guess that they are 3W diodes run at about 50% power for optimal light vs heat output giving it an actual LED draw wattage of around 31W and with power supply total draw of about 36W but that's purely my own speculation :-)

A question for the Blackstar users, what kind of coverage area are you getting with the 240W'ers?
I'm especially interested in hearing about the performance of the veg model.
Has anyone hooked up a watt meter to one of these light to see what they're pulling for actual wattage?
As no LED light pulls exactly what they advertise, some pull a little more, some pull a little less.
This may be an option for my 2x4 veg tent this summer, but I'm still wary of Gotham Hydro after my prior experience with them.

I'm wondering this myself. I was thinking about grabing one veg and one flower 240 but I think I might just supplement with cfl's in both phases though. What do you guys think of a set of 4 autoflowers in 3 gal throughout to harvest. And another 4 ww in 4-5 gal all under 480w of led and between 150-300w cfl side lighting. I will grow only the autos for 3-4 weeks until they show sex and then flower them while I veg the ww so they get more available light. Once the ww is vegged for 4-6 weeks flip it all over to 12/12. Crop out the autos in 1-2 weeks and then dedicate all lighting to the ww in it's last 3-4 weeks. I'm wanting to grab about 10 zips so I think this is doable. Oh and all my new tent gear is in today except my exhaust fan. They are sending a free hyg/thermometer with it and since it shipped yesterday I might still get it this week!!!!! Can't wait to stuff that box with lights and turn off my heater lol.

I own the flowering model and I would say that for vegging, 2x3 is a fair estimate for the foot print. Once the plants get larger, I suppose 2x3 still holds, just that side lighting becomes an issue as the canopy starts to suck up everything. For vegging up to 18" I would say 2x3 is right. Now I dont own the veg model, just the flowering model. However I am considering purchasing their 300W High output model (check their ebay store, and go to their "other" category) it is about 500 something dollars and almost the whole damn thing looks like cree whites. 6k 12k and some red/uv/ir/and blue tossed in. That will probably get you ro a 3x4 maybe as I think the unit is the same dimensions as the 500W flowering models. You may want to purchase that or take a look at it. I have a 4x4 space to cover, and I am looking to mix that one with a 400W or 250W MH.

yeah spectra is supposed to have some interesting stuff, irish boys grows all came out real nice. Yea some of us swear by blackstars but were the cheap bastards that want something that is going to work for sure. If you got some extra change and dont mind throwin it theres other manufacturers out there i would say that are equivalent easily to the blackstar if not SLIGHTLY SLIGHTLY better. IMO not worth the extra money but there is more performance to be had i just think it comes at too great a cost when what i have is already kickin ass. That being said LEDbudguys lights and irishboys lights are good ones and they work well.

havent ran it long enough to know yet but im running miracle grow right now 15-30-15 the water soluable shit for my nute mix mixed really really light like quarter to 1/3 strength. Going to be switching to something else soon not sure what yet for nut's but the MG is workin just fine for veg for flower i use AN but that is on an ebb and flow. Grandpa never ran any nutrients on his setup, never told me about havin to clean drippers really but im sure you will have to eventually but Ill keep you informed on how that drip system is workin so far its fuckin kickin ass made my life so much easier

checked on cree's website about their white HO 3w LED's they are 6500k equivalent, thats it.

1w equivalent LED's for Kessil, I just won one yesterday, they are sending me a magenta one for flowering soon you will have a comparison as to how dense and stacked a kessil can make a flowered from clone plant versus a blackstar.
