Strain: Super Lemon Haze
Flowering time: 10 weeks of flowering
Nutes: Canna terra flores, pk 13/14, Rhizotonic
Grow container: 5 liter
Medium: Bio soil with coconut fiber and perlite
Yield: About 16 grams...not much, but it was untopped, untrained and in a small container...

Bag Appeal: Buds are very fluffy, but completely covered in huge trichomes. Looks very good.

Smell: Smells more like Haze than like Lemon. When you smoke it is smells like sweet lemon candy. Would have liked it a little more sour.

The High: Very strong. The plant was harvested rather late, so it gave a pretty intense couchlock after a bit hit or two.

Comments: I had/have 4 SLH´s growing from seed. Two are harvested, two are in week 4 of flowering. Out of the harvested plants, I had a sativa pheno and an indica pheno. The indica pheno is still curing, but they smell quite similar. the difference was the way they grew. The indica pheno barely stretched throughout flowering, while the sativa pheno more than doubled its height in the first month of 12/12. The sativa pheno had a higher yield and the thickest stem i´ve ever seen. Too bad the clones of that one never rooted... I have a photo of the cola from that plant...will upload soon...

The flowering SLHs look different, but it is still too early to tell the qualities of each...one of them does smell a lot like the first one though...
Did not have a problem with nutes with any of them yet.

Overall, I think this is a potent, tasty strain. However, I seriously doubt it deserved to win the cannabis cup TWICE in a row.... then again, I didn´t think that about tangerine dream either...

For the next grow: I plan on using a larger container and topping + training the plant. Also maybe add some stuff to the soil...like dolomite lime and worm castings. I also pollinated the indica pheno with mango haze. Maybe I´ll grow a few of those some time. The mango haze has denser buds and a fresh, fruity smell, so might combine well with the SLH...

If people here grew it, what did you think of it?

Im in seedling stage, cant wait to harvest.. Good info.
you wont be disappointed :D i know people say GHS has crap genetics, but SLH is good weed, imo...a solid strain, something I´ll hold onto and make crosses with...

i would advise to top it early and train the branches with wire and/or string...and the sativa phenos stretch a lot, so should probably take that into account....

no sign of hermy-ing? heard this strain had a tendency to turn hermy. Was advised to pick up GHS' lemon skunk instead. Good report tho.

I grew out 4 out of the 5 pack and the super lemon haze did not hermie on me at all.I was very impressed with that strain

Mine took so much abuse, whiteflies, fungus gnats, LST, broken AC temps in the 100s with 100% humidity, premature flushing, you name it it took it and not 1 nad formed. I am all out and I miss it, nice clear high with no crash but it didn't live up to the hype. Maybe it was the pheno I had, super stretchy with fluffy silver buds after cure smelled like peppery insence with a hint of lemon, not like weed. heh

yeah, mine didn´t hermy either. and like you, i thought it was a little over-rated...id rather smoke amnesia haze any day! Still good weed though...

Has anyone grown/smoked both SLH and Lemon Skunk? In what ways are they similar? Is Lemon Skunk more sour than SLH, or does it also have that sweet lemon candy scent?

Small update: One of my SLH´s has hermied slightly. It did take some abuse during both veg and flower...broken top, power outage, etc...theres not THAT many bananas, and I haven´t seen any new ones for days now...

Here´s a photo of my first Super Lemon Haze (stretchy sativa pheno):

SLH1.jpg

It´s been curing for like two months now and the smoke is awesome! Smells strongly of sweet lemon candy, and gets me higher than any other weed I have at the moment!

I have 2 going at the moment. They took some abuse during veg, but tried to straigten out before flower. They sent me a 10 pack of seeds when I ordered 5, so I will be growing again. Praying for no whammies with the herm. Very interested to read some more reviews. 16 grams doesn't sound like a lot. Is everyone experiencing smaller yields?

Yield off the second plant was about 20 grams...more than the first time around, but could still be a LOT better...i think if I topped and trained them, and grew them in bigger pots, the yield would be higher...

I heard from other growers that SLH yields pretty well...but my experience says otherwise.

Just test smoked a bowl of SLH3.

The twin colas of the plant resemble that of SLH2 (indica pheno) but the branches are very short, with large buds growing close to the main stem. The buds are also denser on this plant. The smell is similar to the first three SLHs...sweet lemon candy...

The bud has been cut off at the end of week 8. Normally, I let SLH go until week 10. The bud was dried over the course of four days, and cured for 24 hours (yes, a quick one, i know...) The smoke was fairly smooth and aromatic, especially for a bud that´s barely been cured so little. A noticeably different high than from the first two plants. Much more sativa like. Feel high, not stoned. Also did not feel as strong as SLH2, and not nearly as strong as SLH1!Then again, I only smoked one bowl of it... I´ll write more after curing it for a week or two.

I too am growing 2 SLH from seed. Both germinated well but during veg one of the plants took bad nute burn but the other SLH is growing awesome Sativa Dominant with huge green fan leaves but her sister next to it not so much suffers from nute burn and smaller leaves, I guess just a weaker phenotype.

Ok, so the last two SLH´s have been dried and cured now. Time for the final smoke report.

SLH3 yielded less, and was less resinous, but had a very nice smell. The buds were denser than SLH2, and equally green after drying and curing.
SLH4 yielded more than SLH3 and 2. It was comparable in quality to SLH1; extremely resinous with huge white trichs caking even the larger leaves. The smell was not as nice as SLH1 though, so that makes the first one the best.

Going to post some pics of the last two SLHs soon...

Out of the four feminized plants, there were two phenos to be observed; indica (SLH 2 and 3) and sativa (SLH 1 and 4).

While both were quite good, indica pheno had a better and stronger flavor. It smells like sweet lemon candy, with some original haze mixed in. I expected a more sour, lemony smell, but both of my phenos smelled sweet. The indica pheno had smaller calyxes, bigger buds and had an awesome smell to it...very fruity and sweet, lemony and hazy too. The buds were green when dried and cured. This pheno was a better smoke, but less potent than the sativa pheno. It also barely stretched once flowering was induced, and had a noticeably thinner stem. Sativa pheno stretched more during flowering, grew big fat calyxes, had smaller buds (though they did not shrink nearly as much while drying, as was the case with the indica pheno), and had HUGE trichs all over, covering even some of the larger fan leaves! The smell is not as nice as the indica pheno (sickeningly sweet, no lemon), but the high is incredible! Good far any time of the day, but especially useful before sleep (for me at least). Im not sure if it is a coincidence, but I noticed that my insomnia doesn´t bother me nearly as much when I smoke some SLH Sativa pheno right before turning the lights off. During the day it doesn´t make me sleepy or anything though... Sativa phenos yielded more than indica phenos both times. So basically, you either get a plant that smells great, but doesn´t have much trichs and is less potent, or you have strong, sticky, weed that gets you high as a kite, but doesn´t smell that nice. Out of four plants, only one hermied a little towards the end of flowering (SLH4). Only a few bananas, quite manageable. Overall, I think this is a strain I will grow again, and make crosses with. Both phenos are good in their own way; it would be interesting to do a breeding project to try and mix the traits evenly, to make an improved SLH line. Photos are still coming...sorry, i´m just busy all the time...

I also grew 5 SLH and got 2 pheno's. They are about 3 weeks from finishing. One pheno is very short with short branches like a indica. Its buds where very sativa like soft and fluffy and go almost from the bottom of the plant all the way to the top on the main stem. The other pheno grew fast and has long branches pointing upward. I toped one of this pheno and got 2 large dense top colas and allot of smaller top collas on the braches. There is a stronger smell to the second pheno. I switched the lights to 12/12 with the plants at about 6 inches. The first pheno that was short and leafy i left go. The 3 that where long and sativa like i toped all 3. Two of the grew faster and i did a small screen above both to keep them short. They ended at about 18 to 22 inches tall.
