no, not flooded with quality thats for sure. from what i understand alot of people grew out side cuz of the thaught of 19 passing. some one said prices dropped to a grand. cheap ya, but patients dont want cheap any more. quality is what patients want not 700 people doing 700 pounds.

I would agree.... but I am seeing plenty of patients pass on "top shelf" for Jimmy's shit around the corner. May not be the best, but little Jimmy will sell it dirt cheap. The market is flooded with trash.
How many people have their fridge stock full of micro-brews? I know some... but most people stock up on Bud Light and other crap. People, in general, will "settle".

true that. when herb gets legal most folks will smoke the best "bang for the buck" instead of top shelf. It's simple economics. Not this guy tho...

not really. most dispensaries buy for bag appeal and could give a shit about lab test... unfortunately. They just want to best for the cheapest so they can make the most off of each pound. Peace in medicine test some of their herb/hash, and doesn't even report the findings or state which products have been tested. I assume organican't could give a shit as well.

Exactly. Sad but true. I know I shop at local butchers, local farmer's markets, drink micro-brews. But I also take advatnage of the big corporations when it just makes more sense. I wish I could afford to avoid them, but sometimes you can't.

Good point. All about bag appeal. All about the "purps". But it may help the grower offload. You come in, mid-season, you are one of 100 growers seen just that day. Having the extra touch of professionalism, and showing you stand by your product, may go a long way for helping you stand out, and look legit. For a first time grower, this might help start a relationship with a dispensary.
Also, don't some dispensaries like the bragging rights of 20% THC ? I know some spots that love posting those numbers. Patients who like looking at those numbers too. It's a marketing gimmick for the most part, maybe, but it sells.
I know Organicann claims to use Pure Analytics for their testing. I've never seen numbers posted next to samples though.

You guys got good points. One of my dispensieres says they test their hash and bud. Even gave me a number to their place they get it tested lol. Interesting so you guys think if one were to dress some what nice that would make a big difference when vending? Yea seems like i would not even bring it in bags i would get mason jars : )

Then again, shouldn't the cost of quality control be part on the grower?
I am sure anheuser busch pays money to have their product quality checked, and checked for "potency". The cost is on them, not on "Safeway", right?
I mean, when Spinach is picked, who is responsible for the quality? The farmer? The Distributor? The consumer? I believe a place like Target is more concerned about the quality of your shopping experience vs. the actual product.
I know a couple labs popping up down south. May not be a bad idea to test your product. If anything, the "feel good feeling" in making sure you provide safe cannabis should be motivation enough. But that's kinda what I want to put a feeler out for... lots of people here, from all over the state (and beyond). Just curious how lab testing is working, or isn't.
and yes, a good presentation goes a long way. If you come across clean, we *might*assume the herb is clean(er). You come across like a pig, we can assume the herb is likewise. Mason jars is an idea... but bags are simply easier to transport. I also like the idea of packaging with inert gas. Allows the product to stay fresh, longer. An interesting idea... again, putting feelers out to see what people think.

They scolded me for bringing jars. It has to be weighed and bagged on site so it's quicker if you are ready. They don't care about that stuff. It's bag appeal from a distance. Smell + Look

You can't really compare our industry to food production, we are making ours up as we go. And for guys like me, who grow a couple pounds here and there, lab tests aren't in the budget. But you have to look at market dynamics. If I grow the illest herb around (and I do from time to time lol) then why should I have to pay to get it tested? Or even mess with the extra step in moving my herb? I know I can get 4/pound no problem from anyone. I know I fed it organic. I don't even work with dispensaries anymore because they have become more of a liability than an asset. So for dispensaries to draw in the best product, they have to be flexible, because it is and will continue to be about the best of the best. The best of the best will always gravitate to the black market.
Sealing... well that is an interesting concept. Once showed to a vendor, it would have to re-sealed or something like that. And I don't know too many folks sitting on pounds for any serious amount of time where they would need a sealer. But I would like to see dispensaries employing this technology in house. I know from experience that dispensaries can sit on herb for long periods of time, think pre-rolled joints.
