im like a girl but u need tha last word right? last i knew this was an intelectual debate to where u wur at a loss of supporting evidence and truely had 0 valid points to offer...its very easy to say something with out proof as u have shown us i kno i am not 100% right but i do hang on to what i beleive to be right due to the facts and proof that presented it that way...untill what i beleive is to be right is proven wrong by facts given to me hard copy, then they will remain that way!....ignorance isnt not standing up for what is factually correct! ignorance is not accepting what is factually correct even after it has been proven! hard copy! i kno i win i have won this the moment ur ingorance was put on blast.....i do not think i scared u away and if i did that was not my intent...and as u have just stated above! ur different oppinion was only an oppinion and nothing more! a fact is a fact! You are just like a girl. You win! I dont care to fight over something thats so pointless and means nothing for faster growth. And plants do sleep just to let you guys know, there in a state of rest, getting ready for the next day. weather you like it or not! And if you think you scared me away from posting because someone has a different opinion your just as stupid as you sound, Your the ignorant person that wont admit to yourself that you think your 100% right. But you win your right......

i dont think your 100% wrong either...i dont think you understand correct botany terms and are being mislead by the grammar and titles of articles you read...which is ok bro..not everyone can easily understand most of plants biological properties.just keep a open mind when your reading these forums and try to learn from many sources that can prove facts with a little more back up to the material other then "this is what i believe"Well ok then im sorry for acting childish. But I dont think im 100% wrong on this matter either. SO again sorry but WOW Do you see where im coming from or am i that big of a noob that I cant read?
now your getting somewhereWell I think this should sum it all up for everyone. I think everyone is right to be honest with you. Some plants do different things. Here is another post, and take note the references.

The question, “Why do leguminous plants sleep?”, has puzzled many scientists studying nyctinasty.
Darwin concluded that nyctinasty provided protection from chilling or freezing [2]. Büning, who is an
authority on biological clocks, proposed that nyctinasty protected the photoperiodic timekeeping sys
tem from moonlight, because moonlight falling on leaves during the night might interfere with accurate
measurement of night length [12]. However, there has been no experimental evidence supporting these
hypotheses.
but...at least is his doing further research on his own and using much better resources....teaching is more then telling them how to do it...its telling them ways to figure out themselves how to do it
well im not trying to be an ass but that was a very interesting read but again they do not really touch on the subject wether they sleep or not but it does talk about literally one species of a plant sleeping and that is the leguminous plants:
(leguminous plant - an erect or climbing bean or pea plant of the family Leguminosae) (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/leguminous+plant)
and it says that its a darwin coulda been right by saying that they arent sleeping they are protecting themselves from chilling or freezing...also they think that the plant is basically hiding from moonlight...which doesnt explain that to the indoor marijuana grower..
again it doesnt really lead us to beleive that plants sleep....
