Why would you buy American and have to live with an inferior vehicle? Long term reliability wise.
Explain yourself. By just saying it's inferior, doesn't make it inferior. Facts! Data! Charts! Graphs! Show me!

plus if a wave of tiny spiders invade your air ducts, and possibly making your gas tank rupture, they will actually fix it after you finished buying it with out fighting about it!

D:
What?

worked for Infiniti for a year, loved the QX4 (pathfinder), though only worth it with the 3.5L 240hp V6 engine. (2001+)
Ironically, someone told me the 4runners and pathfinders are based on the Izuzu rodeo platform (that comes with a GM engine ..)

Subaru's are great too, lower insurance quotes, AWD, a bit more fuel but worth it .. Id get a legacy GT, or a pathfinder with the 3.5L V6.
I like all the videos I've watched on Subaru's AWD. Looks like it can nearly climb a 45degree incline of ice.

No offense to the USA you guys are great but your cars suck. Euro cars are best.
Facts. Data. Charts. Graphs. Information.

Believe it or not, simple statements are not enough to back up your claims.

get a car to do sick drifts in
Not my bag.

DODGE RAM 4X4...with the himie of corse
What would one of those run me? A used one of course? Also, I can't drive a manual, must be automatic (Flame on, fuckers).

95 impala SS dggm ill sell u one...
What is dggm? Are people forgetting that I don't know shit about cars? Enlighten me, folks.

Gonna have to go with this guys comment man, German Engineering is the TITS! VW's and Audi's are where its at! You can get a hella decent audi, early 2000's for under 10k. You can even get a really nice Passat or older VW bug! :D
Can it drive through the snowy mountains of Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming with no problems. I doubt an Audi will. Think truck, suv, or something with some nice traction.

My father would be furious if I didn't. American-made is almost a must for me.

Luckily, Subaru does make some of their cars out in Indiana at their only US plant.

So...Truck-owners around here?
Get a soobie!

I love my new WRX

Ha! Buy what ever the hell you want.

I already gave my opinion of what I think would be the best bang for the buck.

You want a new vehicle, then you do the research my friend.

Jeep grand cherokee. My woman bought a 2000 for 8k. This thing is awesome. It goes anywhere, and is comfy as hell. Great for long trips. And when you step on the gas, this thing shreads. I think it's as fast as my maxima. Which is pretty decent.

im with this guy, it just right on every level!

how well do the majority of american cars go round a bend/corner? they might be fast and powerful and fast on a straight but there just big engines, barely anything tuned on them!

u might be able to find a older WRX STI for 10k on craigslist somewhere, heres one on ebay. Me personally its not my type of car, but for your situation its prob the best fit.

That's a helpful response, finally. Someone able to concede that what they like may not be what I need.

I've been looking into them. Just not sure it will have enough room to haul shit.

This is another good option. Also, it's American-made in Toledo, Ohio. I totally spaced on Jeeps, it's going on the list.

i wouldn't buy american. i think the most reliable cars are japanese. it is hard to find a low mileage, reliable car for under 10k i think. If you don't mind high mileage, that would work but then you may need repairs. certified is good for people who know nothing but it's going to cost you about 2k more. I wouldn't get a gas guzzler either, gas is too expensive.

I fel like some of you guys think I want to go and drive 140mph...I don't. My car will never surpass about 80MPH. I don't need 0-60 in 4 seconds. When you all buy cars, do you honestly try to buy something that is "fast"? Is that your goal?

Also, I have no problem going around a bend/corner in my car...Nor do I think I have ever drove a car that had an issue turning around a corner...

Someone finally gives some good input. What do you mean by 'certified'?

certified preowned. You would have to buy from a dealer to get this option but it means they give you 2 or 3 years more warranty or 36,000 miles and anything that needs to be done during that time will be handled. If you get a used car that is under the original warranty, you can also take advantage of that. I recently got a used car (german) and it still had time left on the warranty which works for me. You have to get a lower mileage car to get that, most warrantys are 24k, 36k some are 50k. Certified cars are all fixed up before sold too, they replace, clean, give new tires, brakes...

Well I don't know how bad it is out there, but i lived in Bend. OR for a long time and my subaru did awesome. But if you need something with some clearance, Go Ford or Chevy. Some f150's come in 4x4 i think and are very decent trucks. 97 or better in my opinion though.

I have one of these but it's a 96, make sure you have the skid plate and your good to go!
I'd drive mine in any kind of weather.
Just for fun you could get one of these...
