Stimulating root growth?????

Hello everyone, I have some healthy plants (I think) but they seem to be growing slower than I would expect. I do not believe I am over watering. I water (not drenched) every third or forth day. I have them in MG soil so I have avoided adding nutes. What I want to do is make sure I am getting the best root system possible. What would be the best way to do this?

i would say don't water as much, add mycorrhizae either in liquid or granular form. let the medium dry a bit before watering (let the roots search for the water). but the myco will cause you to have explosive root formation. at least it does when i use it for every transplant.... I use it in granular form "Plant Success" only 20-25 bucks that'll last you forever depending on how many plants...

Thanks.... that's the info I was looking for. I thought I might let it dry a little more but I am a noob so I naturally fixate on watering too much.. How do I know when it is too dry?

I would say buy a moisture meter if you're not sure as of when to water. Either that or take notice to the weight of the pot before and after watering.... once it gets light water, but that isn't a sure fire way if your still new to the game. Buy a moisture meter from home depot

IMO i would rather then water from top of your soil bottom feed get a decent bowl place your plant in it an fill bowl with water 2" high nd let soil suck it up then your roots will travel to watered areas ;)) being your in MG superthrive would be the next best thing

... and look into superroots airpots!
It air prunes the roots to prevent root circling, promote microroots.
I use the .8L pots and have 2 trees flowering (5' plants)

I do have superthrive but I have only applied it once because I don't have a clue as to what I am doing and I would rather feed to little then to much. So water from the bottom huh? I will have to look into that.

So.... When I water do I water it until water starts dripping out the bottom? How do I know my plant are "done" being watered?

I think he means put your pots in trays , i have each pot in its own tray , i water the trays not the soil.

that way the soils sucks the water up and encourages the roots to grow down.

...mix some Great White Mycorrihizae into your water...
he's growing in soil. Plant Success makes Great White is for hydro mostly .... unless you want to pay out the ass for the same thing.
Dude get the myco and a moisture meter. Superthrive has yet to be proven scientifically to do anything. I still use it for transplants and stress ... but myco and proper watering habits are what's gonna give you a more robust sysem,
and yes water until there's a good bit of runoff.. not just a little water trickling out into the tray.
here is all you need to know

Thanks that clears that up for me. Another question. I just got a moister meter and all my plants read right in the middle of moist. When should I water? When the meter reads dry? I know these are stupid questions so bear with me LOL.

When transplanting I use h2o2 at 4 tps per gallon to water for transplant shock and root stimulant. I'm gonna have to try this whole watering from below thing. Gotta find 12 appropriate trays tho lol.

dude what the fuck are you talking about?? He is a noob. and since when is myco for new growers??
I can hear you talk shit about the moisture or ph meter for an experienced grower but this dude is just starting out. I'm pretty offended you suggest against myco...
It's part of the reason we have plantlife on this planet.
