im living out in seattle and hoping to find fellow growers/smokers. lets unite in this area and get the ball rolling. whos out there? lets chat up about all the wonderful things happening, such as the bill in olympia that could legalize dispensaries

I was pleased with the first draft of SB 5073, but from what I am hearing the amended bill is not nearly as friendly. For one, the bill would require dispensaries to be nonprofit entities.
The problem w/ nonprofit status is that the feds (IRS) grants nonprofit status. How can the IRS issue nonprofit status to any entity that is engaged in federally illegal activity? The answer is they cannot. If they have, then there's a possibility that the status will be revoked. This is a back door way of allowing the feds to close down dispensaries by revoking or denying nonprofit status.

At this point, I am signing up with Sensible Washington https://sensiblewashington.org/hq/

 They are filing an initiative to legalize cannabis in WA. I urge everyone to sign the petition to get it on our ballot.

fantastica, i am pleased with seeing at least one true supporter for the state. hey ill add you as a contact cause i need a good source of constant info plus a friendly hello every once in a while haha

I think if you had posted in the "Medical Marijuana Patients" forum under Washington, you may have found more like minds.

I am a mod on another much smaller forum, I try and post "news" for our state whenever I find something relevant. I will send you a pm with a link and not spam here... but it may help you stay on-top of the current news.

And likewise, pleased to meet you and look forward to seeing you here again :-)
