No worries i have a few things started in my grow box also, just make sure u bring your babies inside if it gets near freezing,also make sure u dont't have things double planted in case the roots need room, it also makes transplanting so much easier, i'm gonna wait a few more weeks just to be safe.
I'm doing a huge veggie/fruit garden this year with over 30 different seeds, plus a beautiful flower garden (i\m only picking funky flowers with neat bright colours.
I scored a green house from my brother, not glass but the white thick fabric kinda plastic shit lol. My special girls will be all over the property, we have about 30 seeds and a shit load of acres, i'm thinking near our pond

see, this kind of advice is why stoners need riu.... it wouldn't have occurred to me to do this because i ended up having to rearrange hella stuff to clear up some covered space.... *puf puf*

hey thanks hun, don't think it's gonna freeze again down on the wet coast, i was just wondering because my broccoli (i know i know it's a fast one) is coming up already indoors but my leafies aren't, outside. the temps are in the 5 to 10s here, although we've had a couple of just-under-15-ers.
i bought a costco-pack of after 8 lilies (they're like stargazers but on a shorter stalk), i was thinking about going out on the back lawn and chucking the same number of tiddlywinks or marbles or something out there and planting a bulb wherever one lands, for a random spray.
nice score on the greenhouse!! the man got all stoned and offered to build me a little lean-to for some exotics, now i just have to put the pressure on! j/k, actually he's really good about building stuff for me, especially when it's his idea to start with. the stuff that's my idea, takes a little more, um, let's call it encouragement lol.
have you been gardening a long time? i've done forced labour in my mom's garden since before i can remember, and as an adult i've had the odd container garden or two, but this is my first year doing so many different things, kinda scared and excited at the same time. my goal is to not buy everyday fruits and veggies for july and august (the cases of organic produce i get from the okanagan for canning don't count).
 
Ya same her my grandmother has always had a huge garden since before i was born, this will be my second year on a large scale grow at my own place lol I lived in apartments prior and could only have a few inside with no patio.
We've only tilled they area to be ready, it still drops under 0 here so a few more weeks, ive cleaned the flower gardens and trimmed all bushes, oh ya i have grape wines!!! so awesome and pretty. Just got my seed potatoes the other day, i only have cantaloupe, medusa peppers and banana peppers, chives on the go so far, my "other" plants have box priority. So when my green house goes up i'll be ok.

Your going to have fun and grow some great food, don't be scared lol

very nice list you got there! you're way ahead of me, our beds are as yet untouched (maybe we'll do some of that this weekend). for now i have 9 trays of seeds taking up real estate in our tiny suite (temporary - renos - long story, hopefully be capital-H Home by june?)
luckily there's a yard and a patio here so i'll be able to put most of them outside in a few weeks.

ooooo mg, i have forgotten to start my pepper seeds for 4 days running.... dammit. maybe i can still do that tonight.....
i want potatoes too, but i'm lazy, i'm just gonna buy some seedlings come may.
 
hahah potatoes are the BEST!!!! so freaking easy, i take ALL my bad potatoes and just dice them up and bury them and BAM potatoes!!! i freaking love potatoes!!!!!!

i got a cut of a dollar princess plant that i am trying to root and so far it is going well and is still perky after about 5 days of trying to root.

these tree/shrub cloners work really well too, if the people you're getting cuttings from are friends/friendly.

i have some around-the-corner neighbours i'm gonna hit up with a couple of these and a basket of baked goods for some cuts of their tall mock orange (i have the bushy kind).
 
yes it is a shrub. i dont know much about it other then that yet though, i still got to do some research on it so i can keep it alive.

and that root pot looks really cool i would love to have one of those handy. i might have to look into them and get one if i can find localy.
i really dont like ordering online cuz i can usally find stuff cheaper locally.

yeah, i find lee valley tends to be a bit on the $$$$ side, especially for stuff you can get elsewhere, but they do have a couple of hard-to-find must-haves (like the best $2 nailbrush EVRRRRRR). i stay on their mailing list just 'cuz they occasionally introduce treasures like the rooting pot. and i gotta say, as far as their hardware and handtools go, they're expensive but you get what you pay for, quality-wise.

they're kind of an odd company as far as hardware/tool suppliers go; i guess they teamed up with a medical supplies manufacturer a number of years back, so they carry things like scalpels and high-pressure sutures designed for weight-bearing wounds (<-these are a first aid attendant's wet dream, no kidding, i panic when i don't have them in my kit now).

no snow here but still cold and wet.

as for the squash well i never go by what the pack says for germ days. ive had some germ over night and some take up to 2 weeks, and not just with squash this happens to me in all plants from seeds most the time. some times they get planted a bit deeper then others and some times it may just not be as strong of a seed as the others. im sure they will pop
 
like okra? 14 -21 my fat ass, more like, 4 - 6.

but peppers take forever right? i kinda snoozed on them (just did 'em last week).
turns out i have to start a bunch more shit because hubby just went and cleared a bunch of bramble for me. (i know i know, oh boo hoo right? what an *asshole* for doing several hours of physical labour for me lol)
that and i'm still patiently waiting for my ebay seeds and bulbs to ship....
