Thanks for the info Scrggsy. I do remember reading about the benefits of high temp and increasing plants ability to process the CO2. Any words of caution or things to expect going under a 1000 watt hps. The T-5 seems so weak in comparison. The Hydro store says put your hand under light and pull down till it the light turned white and raise hand again till it just starts to turn red for best distance away from light. Some people say 30 inches away. Whats your expierience say?

First pic and second last pic is pre transplant and the rest is after transplanting into coco from dixie cups filled with promix soil. I soaked the coco in warm water for an hour to expand; then rinsed it with cold water to get the temperature up in the medium.

I squeezed out the excess water because it was super damp. Mixed in 25% perlite and transplanted....They have been droopy and one is looking dead for the past three days...I added a little calmag last night....I checked the roots on the one that looks dead and they are still pretty white...

Runoff was 6.0.

Sounds like you are tripping out. Coco runoff pH is not accurate and should be ignored. You always use a 5.8 solution. Coco is inert, it does not contain food, so you need to feed the coco eventually. Just Cal-Mag isn't going to cut it. I'm not sure where you got your expansion instructions from but I don't think you did anything necessarily wrong that would be causing the problem you see now.

When you water always get at least 30% runoff with coco. For the time being, only water when the weight of the planter is <50% what it is when completely saturated. So... if it weighs 10lbs wet then wait for it to weigh about 4 pounds dry. Doesn't need to be exact.

The longer periods of "dryness" will help your roots grow outwards and keep them healthy.

They are probably just stressed out. I find that sometimes it takes about a week from transplant before I see growth return to normal vigor. Don't go stressing yourself out too. Stay the course, water and feed appropriately for your specific media and she'll recover soon enough.

DO you think that I should flush with some ph'd water containing nutes because I didn't add nutes at all and they are also turning pale green so new growth kind of yellow...I don't know if I should wait for the mto dry out or give nutes now.

sup..im running 2-Cherry Ak-47's and 2-Jilly Beans in a 3x3x7 mylar grow tent sitting under a 400w hps..my medium is 80% coco 18% perlite and 2% rocks LOL (i put rocks at the top of the medium) i heard it helps prevent mildew..im using GH Flora series micro, grow and bloom with AN additives and boosters..check out the pic's..im about to be in week 6 of flower in a couple days

I would give them a fair distance at first because you dont want to cause shock or stress. I think thats one of the main things to treat them with a little care. Start off about 3 feet away for the first light cycle to get an idea of temps etc but then bring the light down without burning them. That should be enough not to shock them too much. I started my seedlings under T5's before switching to 400w MH and finally 600w HPS, I had no problems at all. Just use a bit of common sense and you cannot really go wrong unless you do something rash or stupid.

To be honest im in my first grow myself so still finding my way. But so far my experience in coco has been pretty much plain sailing, just watch out for your water source being too crappy and salt buildup in the coco, this is the one problem I had and since switching to RO water things have been easy, the hardest job for me has been dealing with all the growth and vigour to try to maximise efficiency of the lighting. Follow the advice of other coco growers using the same nutes etc and your golden. You will find that most coco growers are using very similar feeding regimes and a few have taken the time to write out a regime. Scroggsy.

Resin is looking good for being about 36 days or so. Definitely some good genetics. I use a few AN supplements myself like Nirvana, Big Bud dry and Bud Candy, and they all are helping out in my own garden.

What is your watering schedule right now? What sized planters are those?

thanks bro..i water about 4 times a week and out of those 4waterings i feed em 3times..i water em alot but i get 0% run off except when i use JUST WATER or a soil conditioner, then ill water to the point where i get a good amount of run off..i flushed em 2 or 3 times since i got em so i dont get salt build up and i keep my humidity low so i dont have any mildew issues..my pots are all 1gallon pots and the plants are just over a foot or so. The Jilly Beans are so resinated they almost look ready to harvest..i just started using my ripener additive so she should be finishing really soon

from my experience, GH has a decent amount of salt in there products which can be seen if you have run off that drys. you should always shoot for run off since they absorb oxygen better when the water runs out. no need to use a flush in waterings. they do look good! you should look into lucas formula, uses just GH micro and bloom without needing the other products which could save you money. results are still good and shouldnt see any defficencies or drop in harvest weight.

cool thanks for the info..i definitely know what ur talking about with the whole salt build up thing.. i've been using GH for 5years off and on now and i love it..i can say it works better in soil then AN's 3 part line of micro grow and bloom..the first time i used GH i thought i was suppose to cut the Grow out completely after the second week and i did and didnt have any yellowing at all till i started my final flush..i've looked up all the different types of feeding programs and kinda dialed in my own program cuz i do use a good amount of other additves and boosters...o yea and as far as the 0% run off thing, honestly i was just following some dude's method from a bunch of youtube videos..what i got out of it is my Indica loves it (the one in the pics) but my sativa dominant plant has a few spots on the fan leaves from salt build up and nothing major at all, im talking like 3leafs on each plant.

I want to try scrog growing(no pun intended) but seems like alot of wasted energy for this type of grow. Reading about light penetration below canopy and smaller bud yeilds on the bottom of the plant got me curious. Ill post pics as I get closer.

I just checked my garden and was wondering why some of the plants have pre flowers that are very easy to tell and others are taking for ever? I was just keeping them on the 18-6 and letting nature take its course but why such a dramatic difference? Don't want to overlook any male plants so I check twice a day.

looks female, males tend to stretch quite a bit and i dont see any pollen sacks. Usually the tallest skiniest plant in the bunch is the male cuz its gotta be taller then the females to pollinate them.

So long as you are watering with some runoff thats fine, RO water is excellent for coco you wont need to flush untill the final week or two unless you make a feeding mistake in which case flush with a weak nutrient solution depending on the severity of the mistake or if you notice the runoff EC rising high. The canna guide is abit on the high side 1-2 ml per litre of A and 1-2 ml per litre of B is where you want to be with feeding.

The plants will sex within 2 weeks of 12/12

I working on some Bubba Kush clones i got from a friend of mine i made a mother plant and have gotten bout 6 clones off the momma my question is can i veg the mother for 12 weeks so i can flower all my clones along with her at same time? She is 7 weeks old as of this tuesday and she is bout 20 inches tall.

mothers can be vegged for a very long time as long as they are maintained and are repotted to larger pots every couple months.

I am with Gravity and Snow Storm Ultra.

Reason I ask is cuz I wanna use the Bushmaster. But it specifically says on the bottle not to use in straight Coco. I was just wondering if anyone had experimented or knows why it cant be used in Coco. I am using Gravity and Snow Storm for the first time cant tell yet but I will be chopping next week so we will see. But I really wanna use the Bushmaster cuz I know it works good seen someone use it in Hydroton. Any advice would be appreciated!
