Attitude Hacked Again? Looks Like It

To add more intrigue, late last night I received a PM saying that it appeared that a disgruntled former member of RIU who made threats before leaving had hacked Attitude and RIU. I have no evidence that has happened but twice today when I went to post messages my anti-virus / internet security program blocked the sending of my messages and gave me the warning that this site was attempting to access my credit card number. I have close to 6,900 posts now and until today I never received that message before, and now I got it twice in one day.

i think this is the 1st mention i've seen of an ex RIU employee
i did get the newsletter(which is supposedly bogus), and only riu has that mail address, i've never dealt with attitude at all
there appear to be some riu issues - not saying this had much impact, just spam really, but 1st issue i've ever had with this site

What I said was an ex-RIU member that was disgruntled and made threats against the site before leaving.

and only riu has that mail address,

Aweber, who rollitup championed as completely safe and secure was hacked right after rollitup made everyone confirm their e-mail.

It's possible to buy niche specific mailing lists, and that may be how highlifeseeds got them.

It is for real.... Attitude claims that just email addresses were hacked, but those that have received said email indicate their real first name and their state is listed.... This is the second time the Tude has been hacked and I'll no longer do business with them.
Damn that blows. I was literally JUST about to order some seeds there after hearing all these glowing reviews here. Looks like I have to start researching again to find another reputable seed bank:evil:

Theoretically, couldn't we just go directly to the source (sensi seeds, greenhouse etc.) and order direct? What are the actual benefits of using a bank like attitude? Just being able to order from multiple breeders with out having to pay extra shipping like you would if you ordered them separately?

i ordered last night from attitude..got a response email with the confirmation # and everything..who ever supposedly hacked RIU and Attitude i think is just targeting certain people on RIU..nothing has been going wrong with my computer and yesterday when people were getting those error codes it was just because there were so many people trying to place orders and login in at the same time

Who are we supposed to order from then?
hell if i know. it's hard enough finding a bank that will deliver to my country, let alone one that has genetics worth buying. the main reason i used attitude was to access breeders that don't deliver to my country through their own website. i haven't even researched it because there was really no need up until now. i had dozens of breeders to choose from. now my favorite breeders are inaccesable to me unless i go through the 'tude. it's gonna be clone city for me until this gets sorted.

Some people are keen on ordering from SECURE sites. I don't know why you're trying to downplay this as completely insignificant.

Here's some facts for you - if the attitude website was hacked and they had access to their server, that means they could have easily added in extra php to save every single thing submitted to that site by modifying the source code at attitude.

HTTPS doesn't matter when the scripts are compromised. That means all of your credit cards and information could be stolen right now.

No one said the site isnt up and running - just because the site is up and running doesn't mean someone didnt modify cubecart to save all of the information submitted to attitude.

This is all very simple.
