With all the manure, compost and ferts in there now, I probably won't feed till July. Just manure and compost teas then but I'll keep my eye on them and my RIU friends will hopefully point out any possible deficiencies as we go along.

Peace

Trying to decide whether or not to put this GHS Lemon skunk in. Got it as a clone on 18/6 schedule 7 weeks ago, put it in my tent at 16hrs and dropped it to 14/10 over the next few weeks. It's outside now at a little over 14 and budding away. What's the chance it'll reveg soon? It grew well for the first month or so but it seems to be slowing growth a bit.
I've always done seed, anyone been through this?

O.K., Update.
Got two of my clones on their own today; 7 days since cutting. Gonna use these to produce feminized seed, that way next year I'll have seed ready for whatever strain out of the 9 I'm growing that performs the best. Still have 6 more to clone or layer.Rooted.jpgHumicups.jpg
I think I'll try air layering a couple and ground layering a couple others, since I have plenty of time.

Peace,

Well, Here's the first setback. The first plant I put in has hermed, the Yumbolt x g13 haze. The clone from her (it) 5 weeks ago has spit a couple of balls. I'll be checking the mom tonight but expect the same. It was the most vigorous plant to this point... figures. Now I have to find something to put in that huge hole I prepped. Funk.

Bummer. Was that from a clone you purchased? You could always put a seed in the prepared hole.
Hi Pablo,
No, unfortunately it was a feminized seed I bought through Attitude. Resin seeds "Yummy". I did it right too; Germinated indoors on 3/2 on a 14.5 hour light schedule for 5+ weeks then brought outside into decent weather at about 13.5 hr schedule. Took a clone at about 6 weeks. It just showed balls. I expect the 2-1/2' mom is gonna show the same when I see her tonight.
Major letdown, she is in a 4x4x3' deep hole that was prepped in Jan. :(

You could place an immediate order with Attitude for a single seed. You'll have it in less than 10 days. Plenty of time to grow a mature plant in CA. A bit smaller, but definitely worth the price of 1 seed.

Yeah, I may germ another today and put it in the hole in a week or so. I've got a bunch of seeds to choose from.

Wow, What a weekend. 2" of rain Saturday night, 2" of snow Sunday morning and an inch of 3/8 hail Sunday at noon. I know these plants are tough but this is ridiculous. I didn't think I was going to put them to every test all at once.
Putting plants in the ground early Might pay off from time to time, just not this time.
They're all still alive, just look like they've been hanging out with Courtney Love and Lindsey Lohan for a couple weeks.

Here's the Blue widow#2 after the Rain and snow, before the hail. Held up the best of all.

Heres the DNA Kushberry right after the snow. I staked her up and tied her in place, later she got assaulted by hail for 5 min.

The real interesting photos (for me anyway) will be in 4 or 5 days when it warms up again to see who makes it through.

Legs arms and fingers crossed,

if they can stand that then your golden for the rest of the season! wind rain and snow will definitely make them stronger and more adaptive!

Haha, yeah, we have a storm rolling through here in the next couple days...You must be a little north of me. But yeah, plants are resiliant and I don't think you'll have any issues with weather, especialy as soon as the Cali weed weather kicks in!

Weekend update. Last weeks hail and snow definitely took a toll but another week to recover and we'll be O.K.

And a close up of the hail damage, 12 of the 18 got this treatment....:(

Power Africa Hail Damage.jpg

And the 3 new additions...KandyKush#2 5.22.jpgPurple OG #4 5.22 .jpgGDP clone 5.21.jpg
The GDP Clone (the one plant I didn't start) was rooted to the bottom of the pot but after taking the bamboo stake out and planting it, the damn thing almost fell over. Weak roots and the loosest soil mix ever. I took 4 clones out of the middle of the plant to open it up a bit and take a load off as I may have popped a root or three off at the trunk when it almost fell over. The plant was a gift and will probably do well after a week or two. We'll see.

Have a good week all,

Doesn't look like the hail set you back too much, I think plants like a little abuse. I'll be keeping an eye on this one, thanks for a great post.
