The only complicating factor is I have been approached for a job. That's a good thing. I need experience and that is what I will need if I intend to run my own enterprise.

However, I don't need any distractions from my cert exam study.

I have a sit-down Monday. I'm even willing to work for free if I can have flexible hours. It's the experience I need.

I gave myself until the end of the year to get my mojo back. So I'm covered.

And there are a few other certifications I would like to snatch up as long as I am in this position.

good luck with your certifications! i have found the a+ and microsoft certifications to be most beneficial to me :)

Thanks. I'll be taking the previously mentioned cert exams throughout the summer. A+ comes first; in about 30 days, then Cisco a month later, finally Security+ a month after that.

I'm looking at that Microsoft certification real hard.

Is it the one which covers Server 2003 and Server 2008?

Well, microsoft certs - there are a ton of them.. pick the windows 7 cert and work your way up to server.. if you want some help passing your exams, look for CBTnugget training videos - they are very good for learning the material. and examcollection.com has a program to take practice tests called VCM.

you can download both VCM and cbtnugget videos from popular torrent sites.
