$12,000 for a 4kw solar system setup? Are you kidding me? for $12,000 I could get enough Do it your self solar cells to do almost a 10kw solar system and buy the stuff needed to have a complete solar system setup. The key to a solar system is wieing up the batteries right to store alot of Amp Hours and the solar panels to charge them properly. if you brake it up right you can get a bigger solar setup then if you had a big single combined one.

#1 rule in solar is make sure your solar system can store more then enough Amp hours then your going to use.
#2 rule make sure you can keep each battery bank system charged with as little solar panels needed.
#3 rule don't use an inverter that is rated at say 2,000w when you will only be using around 500w or w/e. Always use inverters that is a bit higher then what your going to be using to reduce the wasted power that isn't getting used.

i get exactally what your saying frostic zero........but the idea of the page was NOT to go james bond!!! i was intending to start a tread for everyday growers who dont have that kind of cash but wanted to make decent clean grow ops that would produce but keep the energy cost's low.........i appreciate the imput tho fam

With 1500$ buck you could do a really nice one light tent/closet grow....the right way.

You can do a very basic CFL grow when your just starting out for around $1000 depending where you live. IMO if you don't mind building solar panels your self buy the Do It Your Self Solar Cells. Where I live a local solar place sells a basic 100w panel for around $300 but a person can buy 108, 1.8w solar cells for under $200. Imo if your just starting out get just the very basic stuff to run some veg lights and add on over time. =)

A friend of mine who has clones from me has a nice little setup.
1x125w 2700k CFL for 5weeks of 12/12
1x250w 2700k CFL for the remaining 5weeks
He has 6 clones from me every 5weeks single stem lollypopped at 4inches when switched to 12/12 finishes at 10inches and manages nearly 4oz dry. Minimal cost to run.


I on the otherhand run 2 small rooms.
200w 6400k CFL for mother and clones
1x clip on fan
2xPC fans with high CFM's

and

1x600w HPS
LUMATEK dimmable ballast
400CFM 6inch fan
SUN SYSTEMS blockbuster 6" air cooled
5inch fan and filter combo
4 POT WILMA
greenhouse tubular heater for night temps
passive intakes
airstones
oscilating fans


All the above costs me around 20GBP or $35 extra per month

thats exactally what im talking about john"da"mon i wanted to start this tread for ppl who dont have that kinda cash ,..and would like to have have a clean decent grow op you and beansly hit it on the mark,..do you have any picture of theat set -up it ould be great for ppl to see what an affordable decent grow looks like it may spar some ideas ......thx for your imput!!

i will throw you some pictures once my renovations are complete , only thing running right now is mother area.

i have had to move my closet door into a structurally load bearing wall, which moves it into my bedroom as it was previously in the spare room , shouldnt be too long.



Did i mention i also use diamond reflective sheeting, 95% reflective .
