How Should I Practise my Growing Method?

It's risky for me to start growing marijuana out of the blue. The last time I dealt with plants was more than a decade ago in high school. Should I start with a flower, vegetables or some other plant? What kind of things do you guys recommend I start with so I can learn the basics of growing/harvesting?

My initial plan is to buy some seeds from my local store and start growing something in my backyard (which I share with other people) or in a forest/farm somewhere. My plan is to move on from that stage after I've learned the basics.

What types of plants/process do you guys recommend I start with? Any tips are welcome

Hello,

I would grow tomatoes and peppers as a test run.

You can make a hydroponic system or use soil and containers..

You really should get some books about gardening to teach you.
It isn't common sense stuff. You can learn by trial and error, or you can read a lot and then read a lot more and have a good foundation to go with your practical experiments.

Just like in school -- you read most days and then have a day of practical stuff.. So basically, just read and practice..

I'll do tomatoes with soil/containers since I'm not planning on having issues with my electric company. I'll probably spend hours online reading stuff as well.

I know you guys are experienced so I just wanted to know how you started off growing. Thanks for your reply.

You might as well start with MJ. At least you'll have some bud to smoke even if harvest is a bit light.
The thing is I want to know exactly waht I'm doing before I use the expensive MJ seeds. Also it's good to be experienced before taking the risks I think.

quick question: If I want to grow in a forest, should I use my own soil or use the same soil that other plants like 'poison ivy' for example are using?

Growing any plant is all about common sense.

I alwso agree with bacdafucup.
Just grow one plant, only.
Give it all your attention.

Best way in my opinion.

If you really don't want to do MJ first, do jalapenos or bell peppers.
