so im in the market for a new gun and looking for some opinions. i own: an ak in 7.62, remington pump 12g pump shot, and a little .22.
Lately ive been getting bored and am in the market for something new. i know a rem 700 is in my future but that s later on. Right now im looking for an ar type of rifle, ar10 or ar15? Ar10 ide have to go 21in barrrel w the 308. ar15 in 5.56 i could do at 16...but i already have an assult rifle w the ak, but the ak has no range and the ar15 is rated at like 450yrds easy (bullet takes wind worse tho). ar10 has the power im looking for tho as well as range.blah. and outta all my drama ive been told to maybe go FAL route in 308 but i really like the ar look. Any opinions? ar10 or ar15?FAL?

I have a 308 and hate it for what it is worth. Kicks like a mule. I want to get a 17. Those are pretty fun plinking guns.

i just submitted my forms for my pistol permit, hopefuly it will work out. got a squeeky clean record and got good recs, but its all up to them. that spring is sexy, deff getting a 45...been looking at fn 5-7 for a while now, ammos madd $$ tho.

Outa the choices you gave, id take the FAL...great weapon and pretty relaible

Id also look at other calibres like 7mm ...those are good cuz you can hunt anything from groundhogs to terrorists

Only gripe i have with .308's are the bullet drops ....if you want something that hits hard and reaches out then take a .338 for a ride....yul love it, twice the distance and more stopping power.

The 17hmr rounds are like 3x as expensive but can reach out and touch someone. 5.56 ammo is expensive as hell. If you really in the market for an assault rifle and money is not an option check out gunrunners.com they have tons of used and new guns, all you do is pay and have it shipped to your local FFL dealer. There are some really cool 22 clones out there check out GSG arms, affordable and lots of fun. I am saving for a sig 556 right now although I may end up getting the ISSC FN Scar in 22lr. good looks on that site, im mainly looking for some accuracy ~300 yards but good penetration (mainly target poss hunting). im looking for more of bench shooter rather than an assult type, which is y im leaning towards the 308.

do you want a semi-auto or a bolt? i guess it all depends what your gonna use it for..if you wanna bench shoot only or do some target aquisition and shit...then the semi is a better choice...long range shots i go with a Rem 700..they got some real nice tactical models avail....and you can upgrade em up the ass

i always look at how upgradable a gun is and what it was orig designed for

lol yeah me 2..id have more guns then forks n knives n plates in my house

if cost aint an issue the AR-15 platform has a SPR model that is ultimate! heavy ass barrels and they come in a few diff cals...not cheap..but its about as good as it gets for a civie

Nothin says "havin a ball" like blowin up squirrels. Wake up and have coffee every morning with a .177 pellet rifle on my lap.

umm well i dont plan on ever using my guns for anyother reason besides target practice at the range/private property and the occasional hunting trip so i dont see any problem. ok, so if someone broke into my house and i felt my life was in danger you best believe i would use my firearms, but thats an extreme situation that i dont think will ever arise...i have 2 nice guard dogs as well, aint no one dumb enough to test my pups.
