I guess at this point nitrogen would only slow the yellowing down, but I have to make a point like someone else did.... If he is in week number 7 of changing his lights over then technically he is only in his 5th week of flowering, If he would have kept his N higher for weeks before he wouldn't have ran into this problem. Even Fox Farm's schedule calls for higher N in the 3-5 week but in my opinion I would keep it higher at beginning of flowering up until about the 4th week, especially if its a "leafy" strain. Not saying it's not possible but I would like to see a soil that feeds a plant for almost 3 months with the HIGH about of food that it needs to thrive without adding any nutes after the fact.

Has every one forgotten dude is in SS?

I haven't seen any thing on him feeding any thing,unless i completely missed that?

And yes i agree max....keeping a bit more N going into even half way through flower is a good practice to deter these situations.....if mixin food is the style of growin.

He should not have to do any thing with SS to my understanding.Hell if i can make it through an entire grow with just PM,bit of FFOF,blood,bone,bit of kelp and lime with some epsoms a couple weeks of flower(strain dependent)he should not have to use any thing either with subs SS....my 2 cents.

Oh i missed the part where he was in subcools soil mix, yer i thought you barely needed ferts for that too. Seen some having problems with subcools soil mix often though, seems too complicated too me though, i wouldnt have the area to mix it up and looked into mixing blod and bone into my potted soil but didnt come very recomended for indoor small grows. Oh well.

3-1-2 for veg. 2-1-3 for flower are the NPK ratios for cannabis grown in containers...you also need to keep calcium and magnesium in balance. And a little extra sulphur going into flowering cant hurt............

I would say it has to be a really slow releasing food because if there is that much food in it to support life thru a whole cycle then wouldn't it burn the plants up right from the get go?

I feel the ratio should be considered ball park....What ya said on the Cal,mag and sul would be what to keep in mind more than the ratio.You know it,lots of new growers sweat EVERY THING which is understanable.

"little" is the key word.

For me using just some epsom salt has taken care of things.....good source for sul besides mag.

Epson salts got sulphur in, thats good, i dont need to worry, i ppm my water with it so always adding it to the grow. Take it the plant needs a little sulphur to kickstart the flowering then?

Ok some details:

This plant started almost a year ago as a cutting from the origional vk I started. It was vegged/suspended in motherhood for almost 8 months in a smaller pot. I transplanted this into a 15 gal container with 1/4 supersoil and the rest ffof for 3 weeks additional veg before making the switch to flowering. This is the only plant in my 400w hps cab. I let the supersoil cook for almost a year (I made the mistake before of using it freshly mixed :O) I have only watered this plant with tap water and maybe 2 weeks of ro water before switching back. No chemical nutes were used in the making of this grow hehe.

what else would you like to know?

Hmm 3/4 ffof and a 1/4 subcool soil, is it possible that max and the others were right about it needing ferts at this stage? Is subcools soil good enough at 1/4 strength with foff for this plants entire flowering period or are you gona have to add nutes and micros at one stage?

On the other hand a year old plant is amazing, very long seasoned and that bud should be vintage and one hell of a smoke, its a big bush for just a 400w. Peace

They should be fine and actually better towards the end of the grow. The micro bacteria are more active now than ever. Growing organically isnt about forcing nutes down the plants throat, but instead creating a symbiotic relationship between the plant, microbes, and their food.

No matter how much symbiotic relationship can exist in a contained environment. If there is not enough material to decay or be pooped into a form that your roots can/will absorb- you're bound.

It's why I went hydro... something like that.


But I do love me some organic bud, the smells/flavor really are different.
