East Coast Guerilla Growers

i hear they do flyovers in the spring to mark potential spots to return to in the fall...you know..its in the manual of "how to spot a guerilla grow from a helicopter for dummies".
 
Just read an article about a man growin a few plants in the middle of his cornfield in south jersey and his neighbors found out and told the cops. Then they brought in a state chopper and hovered at 100 feet above his property and searched his field. I geuss they dont need a search warrant for aerial searches.
 
I lives hours away from my site...I check the weather up north methodically...I probably dread the watering more than anyone. I do water dances like crazy hoping I don't have to go up too often. So far, the water's been good, only had to drive up twice.
 
I bet if you could find the stats probably 90% of the people who get busted growing get seen by someone than told on. What do you guys think?
 
With the weather as it is, I SO GLAD I grow inside and not out. They are predicting 90-100 degree temps the next few weeks.......... A lot of plants outside might not make it and if the do, they will be stunted from the heat!
 
I agree i think its usually someone telling around residential areas but on the west coast in state parks its more choppers. I'm giving my plants twice as much water as long as this heatwave is here.
 
There is still a good side to the heat, anything over I believe 92 degrees kills mold, so there ya go. And there is always the chance of getting caught.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on that one man. When it's 90+ they certainly don't enjoy it, growth does slow down, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they are actually "stunted." It varies a lot from strain to strain though. I have all that much experience indoors, only veg before going outdoors in the summer, but I never understood why indoors guys freak when their temps get above 80. My indoor room in usually mid 80's sometimes high 80's and never seem to mind. They just go through a lot more water when it gets warmer. Outdoor growing does have it's risks though. You are much more likely to lose plants. If you are willing to put the work in though, huge yields are possible, whereas most indoors growers are limited by space.
 
Overall potency suffers when plants are kept in the 80's. Plant growth practically shuts down when it hit's the 90's and above. My points really were (1) I glad I don't have to be outside in the heat tending to plants and (2) it's tough for plants when it gets this hot.....

been in 90's for weeks here and my plant's have grew 2ft. past three weeks, they seem to love it.

My plants are doing just fine in this heat. I see no ill effects. I just have to water them a LOT more.
 
it hit 105 dgs here yesterday...my shits hangin tough, really have had to step it up water wise, so i went out and got me a drill attachment thats a fluid transfer pump.
 
Well it looks like it's suppose to cool down a little this weekend into next week. By "some" I mean high 80's instead of high 90's, lol. There is a chance for a shower this evening and tomorrow, so I have my fingers crossed. If not, I'm definitely going to have to make a water run. Early morning or in the evening is a must in this kind of heat. I was able to make a trip out earlier in the week and give them a good soak before the heat wave hit, so I should be good for another day or two.

I said this last year too, but I really need to find a patch closer to some water. It's only a 5-10 minute walk, but it's mostly uphill. It's such a good spot though I didn't want to give it up. Good patches around here are hard to find.
 
I've considered doing that too, but not sure how to go about it. Where I live, I'm limited to a very small grow due mostly to lack of good open patches and very little available ground water. The terrain, overall, is pretty lousy too. Wouldn't mind a short drive, but I'm a little sketchy about rolling up into some random area and throwing out plants. If you don't mind me asking, do you do it in an area that you are familiar with and have at least some previous knowledge?
 
Yah we've been getting intermittent thunderstorms and afternoon showers in the midst of the heat. Havent been to the patch in about two weeks. Looks like my grow is getting interesting though. The vacant property has possibly been acquired by someone : / Might have to move em around a little....sigh...
 
I know what you mean sonar, about not wanting to go to another area to plant. My house backs up to woods, so that is what I use. But it's completely overgrown. Clearings are few and far between. In the spring (and last fall) I had to "blaze my way" so to speak, with loppers through the brush and prickers. My blood sweat and tears are in this grow.
 
yeah the heat has been brutal here too luckily i been getting rain almost every afternoon. my plant is loving it and has about a month left. the funnything is my plant outside started flowering around the solstice. way early
