Soil Sucks

and what is the organic matter broken down into? could it be, yes inorganic matter,

simply put plants can not tell the difference between organic and non organic chemical fertilizers. Plant roots can only uptake nutrients in their simplest form which is chemical. You are correct microbial activity going on is what hat breaks down organic fertilizers into their simplest chemical forms. like I said plants can't uptake organic nutrients without first breaking them down into a non organic chemical form .

anyways I was just saying, crazy thread gets crazy responses ;)

I think hydro done right tastes better than organic, hydroponics allows for a more thorough flush and better control of nutrients in my opinion. Matching the correct nutrient profile to your strain and a proper flush I think are some important factors people often overlook.

I really believe in the placebo effect as well... I bet most people couldn't tell the difference between a great growers hydroponically grown herb and a great growers organically grown herb...

but to each their own..
subcool is a great grower and he swears by organic over hydro.

There is a reason that after 40 years of growing I prefer Organic Soil.
Methods I have used in my career
Ebb And Flo
Flood and Drain
NFT
Aero Misting
Aquatics
DWC
Drip Feed

After 4 decades for me personally its all about taste.

Sub
I still believe in the placebo effect though ... :)
and if subcool has been growing 40 years, what does that make him like 50 or 60...

What a troll. Soil is mothers nature's way of growing. Starting threads for an argument is an assholes way of trolling.

It would be easy to find a pro (they are a pro for a reason) saying that organics is better, Sub, DJ Short to name a couple...

Find me pro that says otherwise.

Just wondering... what exactly do you mean by the placebo effect?

it sounds like someone is grasping at straws.

And what about Cali Connect?

In hydro you are the driver, puppet master, or mad scientist take your pick you are controlling/forcing everything your plant does.

In organics you are the passenger or student the plant is in control.

The plant knows what it needs, you can only guess.

Ok.. perfect example, a lot of people try to personify a pro, when its really just all a facade. Anyone can join a site an regurgitate info pretending to be a pro, and in a short time that person is regarded as a pro..
take swerve for example the great breeder from cali connection.

this is off another site that allows high resolution pictures so.. you guys might just have to pick up the new high time and check for yourself.

What do you think of these beautiful powdery mildew infested plants.

I have nothing against subcool, but you go to another forum and people bag on him left and right, want some links?
So if he has really been growing for 40 years, then he is probably 60 years old.. sure here he is a god(but riu is also newbie central), but go to the farm pull up a seat.

Anyone can join a site and start building a following, and in less than a year be regarded as a "pro" ..
