Led Growing Is The Way Of The Future My Friends

I've read many a shitty review by users about these sunpulse bulbs. I have also spoken to a rep for Gavitas, the original plasma developer and even they admitted at a hydro show that the plasma is still very far off being a great light source just yet. CMH may have a better light spectrum than MH or HPS but it is still old world technology that bleeds electricity consumption so I do not see that being the future ever.

LED may not be the only light source for the future but it is more developed than any of the other options to HID.
I can accept that.
But I've seen a grow with the cheapest chameleon plasma light here on RIU from a guy growing alaskan thunderfuck. The part of the plasma where light comes out is a little circle about 6" in diameter, yet he used in a 8' x 8' room. The man grew wall to wall donkey dicks. It was incredible. Idk about gavita lights, but the chameleon is badass. As far as efficiency goes, it sucks less energy than an HPS and lives 10,000 hours longer.
LED's are a cool little thing with a nich market of people who really love them, but no commercial grower in their right mind would use LEDs. They just don't pull the same yields as HID lighting even. You wanna talk facts? That's a fact.
When I upgrade my lights, I'm going with two Philips Retro White CHM's. If I find out that the Sunpulse pulse start halides are the same as the CHMs then I'll get those. There are so many better options that LEDs.

Do you have a link to that chameleon grow, I'd love to see that as that sounds unbelievable. I have seen commercial grows using LED but admittedly they were using shed loads of panels. I'd rather support newer technology to HID, it's unefficient in so many ways.

I've seen the light before but thanks, it has LED as well as plasma. The space was 4x4 that he grew in, not 8x8. Still the buds looked lovely...

i have seen similar results to HID with home made LED panels that they made with 5w LED bulbs in a panel they made with 12 bands of light. they were 600w panels and did something like 1lb to 1.25lb per panel with ebb and flow 4x4 trays. I believe they would do well in a grow environment like that with sea of green small plants, but growing in buckets that require the light penetration of HID just would not happen. i think that vertical growing with LED or using them for supplemental side lighting would be awesome due to the super low heat they can be literally on the tops of the plants :)

I've searched high and low for it man. If I had known then how cool plasma lights are I wouldn't have unsubscribed when the grow was over. I've tried to go back to the posts I made but the first 400 or so posts in my account are gone. I don't even remember his SN. I think it was budxl or something Idk.
If I ever find it, you'll be the first to know.

Thanks, I did find it, it was budXL. The result was good however he did not say what the yield was, also the area he covered was 4x4, not 8x8. Also the chameleon has a load of LED's as well as the plasma lamp.

At what...$7000...bit rich even for me man LOL.

That's funny. I just pulled the name outta the back of my subconscious lol. I can't believe that really was his name. lol
Hey man!! Give me a link! lol
I've been looking everywhere for that.
4' x 4' sounds more reasonable, but still the light diode is tiny for a four by four. Most ppl would say to use a 600 at least for a 4x4.

Nevermind. I found it. Turns out I had found it last time I looked for but didn't realize it. Damn stoner.

I purchase to Blackstar 240's to grow though the summer heat. I placed 3 Blue Cheese under 1 light and 3 Jilly Bean under the other light. They began Flower a 28 days ago. 2 BC are progressing well. The other BC grew much bigger as if still under Veg light and has just begun to form buds. The JB show no signs of flowering. They are all in one group under the 2 lights. I checked today and there is no light leak. Any thoughts?
SO let me try this again. Any LED grower who might offer an explanation for this? So far from my experience I would rather have spent the $500 on weed. So if your ready to address a real LED problem I would appreciate.

I don't think it's a LED thing but rather a genetic thing....

Are they maybe just flowering slower? Give em some time before you judge them. Any pics or anything?

I'm neutral on the whole thing,so don't think I'm being biased.

How is that? I've grew these 2 strains 3 times under HPS. Never and flowering issue. Both are stable no issues.
If any cannabis plants are growing well under the lights, then it can't be the light. The plants might not like the light for some reason (too much or not enough), but if some plants seem to like it while others don't... Then I'd say the problem is not the light itself. There are many other factors besides the light at play, if the light was bad you wouldn't have any good plants.

Could it be related to the summertime heat at all?
Because what you're describing sounds like the result of some sort of stress to the plants.
Heat being the first one that springs to mind for this time of year, it can halt and or severely slow down the budding process.

My temps stay in the 80's right now. A few really hot days may hit 91° but thats about it. So I don't think thats the stressor. The plants that are flowering are very small but there will be bud to smoke, maybe 1/2oz. The others are just hanging out in veg. All of the Jilly bean and 1 of the Blue Cheese. Anyway, so far I have nothing positive to say about the LCD in flower. From what I see it may replace my florescents in veg since it is less heat and to keep some vegging during the winter. The Blackstar seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Not the best LED but good. If it is any kind of reflection of the current state of LED then I would recommend not wasting your money.

Leds are very directional, wouldent surprise me if your spectrum is not the same everywhere.
