Thanks for the compliments, dude. I'm happy that I got a harvest at all this first time.
The strain I grew was mostly Indica and partly Sativa, bred from Mazar & Skunk #1. It's called "LSD" from Barney's Farm Seeds. Turned out to be pretty potent in spite of the loose buds. VERY happy with it and so are my friends. I'd like to know how somebody else grew dense buds using CFL's. There must be some trick to it. I've heard that you can get dense buds with them, but still not as dense as when using HPS lamps. I might try one more grow with my fluoros again, but avoid the problems I ran into with this grow, namely that the plant got way to big and a tangled mess. I won't let them veg so big next time before I make them flower. Anyway, can you point me to a particular grow that got dense buds using CFL's?
That screen idea was just something I posted as an idea for next time, which I was quickly talked out of. I didn't use that method in this grow and won't in the future. But I might try a real SCROG next time. That would require some other changes in my system besides adding a screen. (For one, I'll need access into the res without moving the plant.)
Yeah, the fogger worked great to create a big, healthy root system without using a very powerful (and noisy) air pump. I'll do that again, definitely. If you do, I would recommend using a Teflon coated membrane in the fogger to keep it from getting dirty too fast (only about $5). The main problem with the fogger is that it heats up the res water a bit (around 80 degrees), so it won't hold as much oxygen as 70 degree H2O. But my plant still got massive roots. And since my grow cabinet is in our bedroom, making it quiet is a big priority. (I want to stay married.)
