Light question (a good one!)

i was wondering if a black light would be useable by a plant (in addition to regular lights), since it produces uv rays.

also, while i am waiting for more money to buy more cfl's for my plant, i put i a fixture of two 4 foot flourescent tubes that are 40 watts each, and i also have three 100w cfls on the plant along with the tubes. is this enough light? by the way my plant it on 12/12 in the flowering stage if that helps.

No its not. Its a horrible light. Why/what makes you think of a black light?

Also, try doing a search. I just read 3-5 threads on black lights.

hit the FAQs! a TON of answers and good info!

(and complaining there are no responses to your post in a 1/2 hours is kind silly, don't ya think? This isn't a chatroom)

The 100W CFL, is that the 'equivalent' or its actually draw? For flowering, all the light you can muster is the rule of thumb

BLACK LIGHTS ALONG WITH ALL COLORED LIGHTS ARE JUST REG. LIGHTS
WITH COLORED GLASS, ALL LIGHT PUTS OUT UV TO SOME DEGREE, ITS RADIATION, NUCLEAR MAN!!!!!:blsmoke:. THEY DO MAKE GROW LIGHTS THAT SHOULD FIT IN YOUR BALLAST, @ MOST HARDWARE STORES, BUT IM NOT SURE IF A SPEC. BALLAST IS REQUIRED??? I USE 1000W MH, GROW AND HPS, BLM, SPENDY BUT THEY WORK FOR ME. HOPE THIS HELPS, CHECK MY PICS IF YOU HAVE SOME TIME. ALSO IF YOU GET A CHANCE HIT THE LOCAL GROW SHOP THERE IS A SPECTRUM GRAPH ON MOST BOXES FOR GRW LIGHTS. WELL NUF 4 NOW. B.

People here are actually great. But ya gotta do a 'little' work on your own.

If ya did a search, you would have gotten your answer. And a lot of opinions. Along with other surprise information. Searching is a good thing to do. To find out more then you wanted. Plus can give you more questions or other things to research.

So grasscity someone will answer in less then 30 minutes? on every and any question? cool beans!
