your absolutly right i saw a 70 plant grow and guy kept pickin leafs every watering and his end result was fluffly buds , and 3 pounds hahahahaha
i used to think cause when you flip to flower leafs start to yellow off 2nd and 3rd week that it was normal reason flowering food and in theory Nitrogen isn't needed as much as in veg and flowering food has more 2nd and 3rd propertys
and from giving my plants supliments in other words giving them a little more nitrogen has yielded me almost 2 times more yield per plant and being a honest grower trying to give this site some solid info Cal mag is prob the best supliment in flowering i ever came across 2- 0 -0 and thats all you need to keep it green till harvest
As i grow in soiless mixes reason i say flushing is a waste of time is theres products out there that in essence will turn your nutrients into carbs and amino , fulvic acids as you add this product GROZOME into your flowering the end result is a more fruity sweet tasting bud i am sold on this product also when your on your last week of flowering i tend not to water or feed just letting medium dry out and usually after my 72 hrs of lights off plants are at its best possible THC and plant has taken all its food it possibly can
to give you a idea 3 plants dryed 8 oz dryed kepping it green before it would of took almost 7 to 10 plants

its crazy how much this thread keeps growing lol i am the one who posted this thread, i know i havent been posting much replies but i have read them all and from i have learned is that it is normal for a plants leaves to start to turn yellow in the flowering stage. so if i understand correctly i should just practically just let the plant shed off the leave, another question of mine is the flush before you harvest. it seems like 2 people are having the debate over its stupid to do or its the best thing to do for your nugs. what do other people got to say about it cause both of these two people seem like they know what they are talking about

I like the idea of a flush. While im sure it wont get all the nutes out I feel it should clear slot of them. I know I smoking d some of my unflushed bud and it was discusting. Havnt tried any of the flushed yet. But if you don't want to flush I hear you can water cure buds to get rid of he nasty nute taste

Shit ill just bump this thread again to let u all no that removing all fan leaves later on in flower like 5th week will bring u more bud to the table why because the leaf that late in the cycle is doin all it can to survive takin all the energy and sugars away from the thing your after most which is bud after the 6th week in a 8 week cycle my plants are trimmed bare like u was trimming your bud for drying as it matures them alot faster than it would otherwise i ve seen first hand wot you get if left naturally inside and the bottoms are just shit that neva matures unless you leave it on the plants and crop twice which is 1 time consuming and 2 a waste of space for wot your gonna get from them trimming my way leaves u with a plant that matures from the tip to the roots all at the same time and instead of the supposedly loss in weight i ve gained by atleast 20% !!

Leaf dropping is part of an important and complicated process that ends in their being shed at the end of each growing season. The actual term used to describe this process of leaf drop is known as abscission.Although some parts of plants like stems and buds can handle freezing temperatures, most leaves cannot. So, in order to protect themselves, trees and plants shed diseased, damaged or dead tissue (namely leaves), while simultaneously sealing the point where the leaf petiole connects to it. Known as the abscission layer, it consists of unique cells that can separate from each other based on certain physiological occurrences. As changing climate and light conditions of autumn evolve, hormones within trees change too. The most notable is auxin. It’s produced in the leaves and body of trees and plants. This balance of auxin levels between leaves and branches is key to determining if and when leaf drop occurs.
During the active growing season, production rates of auxin in leaves are consistent with other parts of the plant or tree. As long as these rates are steady, the cells of the abscission layer remain connected, which in turn, keeps leaves attached. However, as days shorten and temperatures cool, auxin production in leaves starts to decrease in response to changing conditions. As a result, fracture lines develop at the base of the leaf petioles and scarring builds up at the same point to form a protective barrier. Eventually, it’s just a matter of time before wind or rain provides that last nudge and the leaves are released, at least for most trees.
The plant sheds it's leaves, the leaf doesn't shed the plant. The leaf isn't trying to hang in there by using up plant resources, it's the other way around. The plant will use up the resources in the leaf, then shed it. Removing leaves is like a gastric by-pass for the plant. You're cutting down it's ability to make food.

Just out of curiosity, why the obsession to cut these leaves? Because they yellow and are unsightly? Mother Nature doesn't run around with pruning shears, she has the abscission process to handle that. Why try and over engineer this?
It's ya'lls crop to do with what you will, it's just that this whole debate makes no sense. It's based on Hoo Doo rather than science.

but what about the weak ass shoots they will not produce any flowers cuz they get barely any light, i know i should have done this before 12/12 but its too late for that im wondering if it will effect my yield by trimming them off.???
