So far there is no proof of brain damage. Far as developing brains (I'm thinking babies and pre-pubescent age) I wouldn't, better safe than sorry. At any rate, kind of a moot point in your case, you are 18 and can make your own decision on whether or not you want to smoke or use anti depressantsWhat age would you want your son to be before smoking weed?
I ask because my dad was ok with me smoking(im 18 and have a medical card) because it gets rid of my anxiety, depression, insomnia, and chronic pain from past injuries. But the key word is he WAS ok with it. My dad and I have the same doctor, and my dad asked him about my marijuana usage. The doctor told him if I had been a few years older it would be no problem, but since im only 18 marijuana will affect my brain development considering the brain isnt FULLY developed until your 21-22. Now my dad wants me to get on anti depressants because they are "safer." The thing is I dont wanna be on anti depressants. I dont want to substitute a drug/chemical which is more dangerous. I dont see how my weed is bad for brain development but their pharmaceutical junk is ok. Everybody knows how bad anti depressants are for you. The side effects and the actual physical withdrawals from them. Not to mention that they take about 4 weeks to kick in and not every anti depressants work for everyone. Plus for young adults there is an increased thoughts of suicide?
So I guess I have 2 questions, what age would you be totally ok with your son smoking, and do you really think marijuana will have a noticable or significant "brain damage" since im only 18?
