Kid working for me (22 years of age) found 17 caterpillars on 1 of my medi's, son is out buying Spinosad today for the rest of garden. Spray 2 times per week with the BT and still find that amount on 1 plant, BT isn't working?

Damn Hodge. I hope you can get it controlled. The BT seems to be working for me so far. Or maybe it's a combo of that and the Fruit tree spray?

Been using the BT for 4 years now and have always found worms, going to have to try something stronger. I don't like using sprays at all but I've relaesed 15 thousand lady bugs, at least 5 thousand mantis and am now having to use a spray. That amount is over five years, no beneficial insects released this year as I'm still finding the occasional mantis. My good friend Nuggs has bug zappers at each end of his garden and has no major worm problem? I'll go that route next year if I decide to grow here.
Only sprayed my fruit trees once in past 20 years and that was for a fungus problem, leaf curl. Just like trying to keep a balance...

Ahhh...a bug zapper! I was wanting to put one out there but was afraid of the light the constant zapping would make. There are literally hundreds of moths flying at night that you can see when you shine a flashlight up.

Are you implying that my 48year old eyes are not as good as your 22 year old helpers eyes?.....You would be correct if you did!........lol
I find myself always calling for the services of my teenaged son now.....hey, what's that say?...... too small i cant read that!
In fact I went down to the 99cent store last harvest to buy some cheapo glasses so I could see what I was doing. Getting old's a bitch, but I can still see good enough to roll my joints, so I don't worry to much about it.......cough.....cough!

I wonder if my non-Caterpillar issue is due to the large population of Bats I have here on the property, or is it my eye sight...lol. They nest in the eves of my shed which is near the garden, in fact they're nesting in my horse stalls too. I bet their nailing those moths at night.
I better do better inspections on those buds, I check, but so many buds to look through.

Bats are excellent for moth control but bug zappers are better. Have to agree with you on the eyesight thing, kids can see the sex of those damn thing while I have a hard time seeing the caterpillar. lol Just one of the things that come with our grey hair and knowledge. Getting some Spinosad for the next spraying, want to see if it will save the other strains before their to far into flower?

Can anyone give me a description of the moth that brings the worm we're all afraid of??
I've seen several light blue ones around my place and a few white ones and, of course the butterflies....

Peace,

All is welcome my friend.
This is just a place to learn, meet new people, and help each other out. So don't be shy and show us your grow, no need to hide anything from us. I was happy as fuck when I harvested my 1st 4oz (dried weight) plant. Felt like I raised a kid or something. Just because you don't grow the biggest, or the most, still be proud of your garden. TAKE PRIDE IN YOUR GROW! We don't give a shit about size, we just want to see the garden.
Stay Safe...

Hell ya brother.
That's what we're talking about. Very nice garden, looks like a few different strains. What are you growing? Looks like all your jars will be full this winter.
Keep the updates coming...
