Master Cloning method (w.Pics)

Hi fellas.

I wanted to share with you my latest cloning method. So far I have only practiced this one time and my success is 11/12.

Soak Rockwool cubes in pH 5.8 - 6.2 balanced water for 24 hours
Photo 0311 (Custom).jpg

Mix in rooting stimulant, this f.ex is mixed 1ml / 1L of water
Photo 0312 (Custom).jpg

Push the cubes into 2inch net pots and shake excess water out
Photo 0313 (Custom).jpg

Drop it upside down on hard surface to push the cube to the top of the pot
Photo 0314 (Custom).jpg

The spacing from the bottom of the net pot to the lowest part of the cube should be something similar to this
Photo 0315 (Custom).jpg

Poke a hole in the cube, I use a screwdriver
Photo 0316 (Custom).jpg

You can see how deep the screw driver goes, maybe 1/2 - 3/4inch down
Photo 0318 (Custom).jpg

Find suitable clone material, preferably at the top of the plant and cut below the 4th node. Count: top=1, 2, 3,4 nodes and cut below that
Photo 0319 (Custom).jpg
Photo 0320 (Custom).jpg

This is what the cutting should look like.
Photo 0321 (Custom).jpg

Snip of the lowest node and all of the extra thin plant material that might be left and dip the "open or wound" into Clonex cloning gel.
Photo 0323 (Custom).jpg

Stick the stem into the hole in the cube. Be careful to smear the gel not of the stem.
Photo 0325 (Custom).jpg
Photo 0326 (Custom).jpg

Cut of 50-60% of fan leaves that are too large, they should be around 1-1.5 inches long. (approx)
Photo 0327 (Custom).jpg

Mist it with water (I just use tap water)
Photo 0328 (Custom).jpg

And that's it. You can now place you clone inside your preferred humidity dome or mega cloner or what you want to call it. All should do the job. I used this time a homemade humidity dome made from 1" x 1" wood frame and food plastic roll.

how is this a master cloning method?!?!

i think the netpot would make it harder for the roots to come out they need to work around that shit lol

rockwool also is shit for PH stability. this seems like a typical cloning technique with some netpots lol

yeah i think your making it harder then it is. The netpots are not needed at all i dont see the need for them when i clone all i do is i use rapid rooters and a dome and all i do is i will soak my rapid rooters in water with some root hormoin in it . so after i pore the water and hormoin on them i make sure that there pretty wet then i take my clone cuttings and lightly shave around the stem and then i will split the stem in half about half a inch then dip it into some clone x then put it into the rapid rooter and give them a light mist once a day and mist the dome once a day for 7 days and usally on the 7 or 9 day i have roots and i always get a 100% rooted and that it . Some times i even just for get about them for 7 days and dont do anything to them and they always root . So i hope this helps you and good luck on the next clones you take and let me know how it works out for you and if you try anything differint

I agree, this isn't really a "master" method. Just standard procedure. One thing you could change that might help you get roots faster is instead of creating the whole with a screwdriver or using the premade whole in the rockwool, just push the stem into the rockwool where there is no hole. Like in one of the corners. So essentially make your own whole using the clone. It seems when the media puts more pressure or is tighter on the sides of the stem of your clone they tend to root out faster.

Guessing he is using the net pots in lieu of another tray to keep the RW out of any standing water.

Seconding the Rapid Rooters and Dome but to each his own.

Thank you for your comments.

But the only reason I call this the Master cloning is because "Padrone" means master ;)

There are very many ways of cloning, some work better than others. This one has worked the best for me upto date.

I can't get these rapid cloner plugs where I live so I will have to make best with what I have.

Cloning is ridiculously easy. All I do is cut a decent sized branch from the bottom of the plant, one I would otherwise do away with anyway, slit the bottom of the stem, dunk it in water, dunk it in rooting powder and put it in a cup of water. a week later, presto! a clone ready for flowering. It's that easy.

it takes u a week and thats it to root? all strains or what. and its ready for flowering?

this ph thing with rockwool is very overplayed imo, i gave up conditioning rockwool with formulex years ago

i think over time i have relaxed the stringent rules the growbooks demand, in the quest for laziness/efficiency

unless you are growing in large rockwool slabs the tiny amount of rockwool used for cuttings, does not need to be conditioned/adjusted for ph, it makes zero difference
that is an unnecessary step

i agree this is nothing new its just the standard method of taking clones, with the addition of sitting them in plastic pots :?:

The rockwool is pH neutral, so if you put them in pH 5.8 water, it will stay at the same level. The reason I pH balance my water is
that I have more success with water in that pH range than straight from the tap (around pH 8.3).

Putting them in plastic pots makes it easy for me to implement them into all of my systems, which ever I choose to use. This time
I started them of in a 27 site Cutting board from GHE for a week to use a humidity dome and before they rooted I moved them
into my home made easy cloner (seen in thread/picture above) when they started shooting roots there they just.... it was amazing
to see the results and how they grew every day.

The spacing between the rockwool and the net pot at the bottom is just my preference. It seems like it is easier for the roots to
find their way out of the rockwool and the pot like this. Before I always just got one thick root coming out from the cube

Now the 12th one shot roots. He was looking for some water in the wrong direction
and the first roots came up the cube but went down again and now it's ,uuuh,
"blossoming" !

This is day 17 since I cut the clones.

That is no problem my good wizard. I wasn't sure where to post to start with so it's good to know it is where it belongs.

cheers right back at you
